Months had passed by in a blur and before she knew it, August had enough money to leave New York.

Not long after moving in, August had went into labor and gave birth to little Sophia. August had signed the birth certificate for Sophia before her mother came to take the baby away, bringing temporary guardianship papers along with her, Augusts's father and their lawyer who was there to see through the paper signing.

It only took August the rest of the day before she was discharged and told to take it easy.

A few weeks after the birth of Sophia, August had finally gotten a clue as to where she wanted to move next. She knew she wanted to live in a city so that the job opportunities where more diverse and open but she didn't want it to be as expensive as New York. It was late on evening that August had decided on Los Angeles. She had nine thousand saved up with the help of the 5k she had previous to moving in which helped her pay for a relatively cheap apartment coming in at $1,200 a month. Next she booked the plane tickets to that Friday so that she had the rest of the week to pack her bags, get rid of her furniture and tell her parents.

Augusts's mother wasn't very fond of the idea that she was moving away but she didn't have a say, instead she had promised to give August a few grand once she landed in LA so that she could have time to find a job.

Wednesday afternoon August went down to the second floor to inform Farrah of her plans to move. She had already known that August wouldn't stay long after the birth of her daughter so it wasn't a big shock when she handed in the months rent and a formal moving out statement.

By Thursday evening August had found someone to come by and take all of the furniture she had, which wasn't much. She hadn't bought anything new since the first day she'd moved in so her house wasn't very full with decor. The couch that she'd gotten was going to a nice couple a few blocks over while her bed was being burned at a wasteland and her table was being given back to a thrift shop. The pots and pans she had she figured she could leave for the next person that moves in. She'd barely used them during her stay as she had to live off of ramen and recooked food to keep her groceries bills down.

_____________

It was Friday morning and August was ready to go. She had woken up at 6am, gotten dressed and grabbed her bags and pulled them to the city bus stop just in time for the bus to pull up. With a smile to the driver she sat down in the back, far from the people. Her plane wasn't until 11am but the bus was a hour and a half long and she'd rather not underestimate her time.

Roughly two hours later the city bus pulled up in front of the airport.

It didn't take long before August had finished going through customary, waited for boarding and boarded the plane.

"Ma'am" the flight attendant tapped on her shoulder "hm?" August was snapped out of her thoughts as she turned to the lady "would you like anything to drink or eat? We've got cookies, peanuts and water" August glanced over the array of flavored peanut and cheap cookies. "I'll take one of each please, thanks" she kindly thanked. She had yet to have breakfast and she was famished.

The plane ride went by in a breeze and before she knew it August was stepping outside of the airport in search of a taxi.

"Taxi!" She whistled to catch the attention of a near by taxi, he slowed down beside her and made sure she was buckled in before driving off. "Where too?" The man driving gave her a friendly smile "the closest car rental establishment" August had a list of things she needed to do before the day ended and the time zone difference really helped. She needed a car, phone, bed, couch, laptop and dinner all of which she hoped she'd get easily. The phone would take the most time seeing as she had to set it up and get a plan going but it was worth it in the end if she was able to find a good paying job to help her afford her apartment. She wished she had found something cheaper but the only thing left was a studio and although that would work, she decided to rent an actual apartment as to save money from having to move again when she got on her feet.

The taxi driver stopped in front of a used rent to own car dealership "that'll be $20.45" August dug into her pocket and pulled out a twenty "I don't have any change" she murmured not realizing that the taxi driver heard her. "It's okay ma'am, I've got enough spare change up here to cover it." Giving a thank you August jumped out of the taxi and headed to look for cars.
