Chapter Fifteen

"I cover all of Mr. Sterlings notes from meetings. Normally Ralph will take Mr. Sterling too and from meetings, occasionally leaving him to deal with important clients but since I was hired, I took on that responsibility and now Ralph mostly deals with taking phone calls, planning the schedule and organizing paperwork. We've decided to switch off every once and awhile so that he can take a break from the constant 24/7 phone calls but Ralph enjoys being able to stay inside. I do have my own half of the clients to deal with and my schedule is slightly different from Ralph's. Whereas he has 9am to 3pm to schedule meetings, I have 3:30pm through 7pm to schedule my half." Samual explained.

"Although I haven't been here long, I've gotten a chance to meet a lot of important people such as his family and friends. His friends, Noah Adair, Sebastian Elion, Jayden Bauer and Ian Draper are the sole donators of this company. If you see money being donated, it's from one of them, if a project needs funding, one of them handles it. They are the best at what they do. Noah owns a security company, Sebastian made his first phone at 15 and took it off from there, Jayden owns hotels, clubs and restaurants all over the city but is widely known for his chef skills. He likes to come here to cook for us every three months, it's a special treat provided by Mr. Sterling to give his employees a break. Normally we shut down for the day and enjoy the peace that we don't get from nagging clients. We are on the clock that day so don't worry about losing money." He took a breath of air.

"Ian owns an investment company worth 100 million right now and will be worth one billion in the next ten years. That's a very high jump so Mr. Sterling has been planning a special surprise party for him that only they and their partners will be able to go too. That isn't until another year or so, when he's worth double the amount that he is now." August stored the information she'd just learned into her head while syncing her tablet with Sam's. She wanted to get every notification they get — client and work wise.

"Thankfully for us, Mr. Sterling hired you to take on any outside meetings and events. You're like his third secretary but you get more benefits because you are on call 24/7. Most of the time, all you need to do is remind him or any meetings and events outside of this building and get him too and from each place, dressed professionally with any and all supplies that he might need. That includes going over to his house, picking out his suite, bringing a pen and paper with you along with a voice recorder, making sure you have the drivers number along with any restaurants information to confirm that they have a table set up for Mr. Sterling. Almost all restaurants within a 15 block radius knows Mr. Sterling so they shouldn't be a problem, the rest of them I can't exactly account for. There are times where they've forgotten that Mr. Sterling was coming and they received hell from him. He may look nice but he can be mean." Sam took a bite of the lo mien he had yet to eat and helped August sync her tablet to his.

They continued to talk for the next couple of hours until 8pm rolled around and Rum came in to inform August that she could go home whenever she liked. Mr. Sterling would be staying after hours before heading home and he didn't want her to wait for nothing.

"Today's been an uneventful day for you, I'm sure you were really bored because I was the same when I started a couple of days ago but tomorrow it will pick up and slowly you'll be overwhelmed with work but the benefits and pay are well worth it. I got paid $500 for working a week here, five days for me and six for you, it's a good paycheck that will pick up in a couple of months but it's definitely going to pay my rent." Sam walked with August to the elevator and entered with her, immediately pressing P and 1. "Thanks Sam, it was nice to hear more about the job, you've memorized so much and you've only been working here for a short amount of time. You're going to do great here" When the elevator doors opened August hugged Sam before she stepped off of the elevator and headed home.

She had a good feeling about this place, it'll be a new start for her and maybe, just maybe, she'll be able to get little Sophia back in a couple of months. Although she didn't like the fact that Sophia was a product of a married man's lying game, she had to get over it and be there for Sophia. She was Augusts' first daughter after all.

I notice a lot of "CEO falling in love with his secretary" don't really explain much about being an secretary or PA. I hope that incorporating some aspects of their responsibility will help you guys get a better picture of what August has to do. It's a little easier than Ralph and Sam's job but being a PA means she won't have much time to herself but it does equal a big paycheck.
