Writers block at its finest.

As soon as Alec hopped into the car, August tapped on the drivers shoulder "you can head over to the restaurant now, thanks." She smiled at him. "You left early this morning" Alec stated as soon as August settled in her seat. She nodded "I had to head home, change my clothes and head into the office before you" she opened her tablet and looked at the spreadsheets before her. "You could have stayed a little longer, I wouldn't have minded. Breakfast would have been nice spent with someone" August chuckled, rolling her eyes jokingly "no thank you Alec, I think I'm fine eating breakfast alone" she shook her head amused.

"But I'm not" he pouted, August shrugged her shoulders "call Tiff, she has a crush on you and she's a sweet girl" Alec sighed crossing his legs, he hated it when August brought up the fan girls crushing on him. He had eyes for only one girl. "She's sweet but she's not my type, I'm into brunettes."

"The Rayna." Alec shook his head "n—"

"—We're here, Sir, Ma'am" August sat straight, flattening out her clothes before opening her door and stepping out. The driver walked around to open Alec's door before giving a half bow and walking to the drivers seat. "Wait here Charles, we shouldn't be more than an hour" August ordered.

Alec walked side by side with August into the restaurant-cafe and to the women who ruined one of their free days. "Mrs. Ramirez" August greeted first, she put on a fake caring smile and held out her hand for Mrs. Ramirez to shake.

"Assistant" Mrs. Ramirez greeted with little distaste. She was nicer then most of Alec's customers but still didn't bother to learn August's name. "Mr. Sterling!" Ramirez turned to Alec with a large smile, her hands clasps around her right one, pulling it closer to her chest. "Ramirez" Alec grimaced slowly pulling his hand away away from her wrinkled ones. "What can I do for you today" Alec sighed. August pulled Alec's chair out for him before she pulling out her own to seat down in. "My employees. . . ." Ramirez started, "twenty five of them quit" she sobbed. August frowned looking at Ramirez's company information. Thirty employees. She had thirty employees and twenty five of them quit. There was no way twenty five would quit randomly without any sort of warning ahead of time.

"Twenty five" Alec practically seethed "how can twenty five quit?" He tsked. "I-I don't kn-know—" Alec sighed rubbing his temples in irritation "you do know Mrs. Ramirez, twenty five employees don't just quit. What did you do?" Ramirez purses her lips together, a frown taking place on her face when she realized Alec wouldn't believe any of her petty lies.

"Fine" she huffed waving her hand in the air, "some of them did quit but it's because I hired the lot" she chuckled nervously. "Why?" August questioned. Ramirez glanced her way before turning her gaze back to Alec "I'm short on money, I needed to get rid of some dead weight. But it's fine. All I need is another hundred thousand and I'll be able to hire more help, I've got a line of people waiting to be accepted into a company partnered with S.T.A.R Corp." Alec shook his head.

"No, no more loans. No more money. You're contract is about to end, I'm letting you go."

"Letting me go?" Ramirez scoffed. "I can assure you Mr. Sterling that I'll pay you back the money given, all I need is a little bit of a push and my business will be booming by the end of the year" Ramirez pleaded.

"And what about the first 100k that I let you borrow? You spat the same lies as now, telling me that I'd get my money back within record time yet I haven't seen a penny of it since I gave it to you. No more money, Mrs. Ramirez, your contract is almost over and when it is I want nothing to do with you or your failing busy" Alec took a deep breath in "if you have a problem with that then take it up with my lawyers but I guarantee that you won't have enough money to make it to court doors" standing up, Alec made his way to the door and out the restaurant.

Augusts' eyes flickered between the two of them before finally settling on a seething, glaring Mrs. Ramirez. August stood up dusting her clothes off "I'll get in contact with you when your contract is up, we will be pulling all of our suppliers back so I suggest you start hiring before then."

* * * *

"Are you okay Alec?" August asked when she left the restaurant. "I'm fine, just done with people using me for my money" August pursed her lips in thought, she couldn't deny what Alec said. People used him for his money but that's what comes with being rich, people want your money more than they want you and your companionship. August opened the car door and let Alec get in first before she followed suite "take us to Romanov's please" she told Charles.

"Yes ma'am"

"Why are we going there? I thought we needed to head back to the office, I'd really like to speak with the head of Human Resources about Mrs. Ramirez and her contract, I want to end it early."

August shook her head "you need food first, I'm sure your hungry and it's almost lunch time so we are going to Romanov's."

"I've never been there before" Alec muttered "then your going to have a good time, it's a mix of Italian and American food. Italian dishes with an American twist, I love it there. I've only been a handful of times but the employees are like family and love newcomers."

Alec smiled giving August a short nod, he liked this side of August. The one that wasn't a 24/7 business women, she was looked younger when she relaxed and Alec definitely would not give up a chance to spend more time with her. Maybe even ask her out to dinner.
