The coffee spilt on not just her shirt but the man in front of hers. August jumped back in surprised, pulling her burning hot shirt away from her skin. "Oh shít! I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed swiping her hand across her shirt to rid it of the hot coffee while the man in front of her did the same to his shirt. "It's fine" he muttered bitterly. "I hated this shirt anyway but my secretary wouldn't allow me to throw it away" he sighed, letting his hands drop to his side uncaring of his ruined shirt.

"It's just a little coffee, I can deal with it" August looked up at him and gave him an apologetic smile. "I can buy you another coffee if that's okay? I don't have enough to pay for your shirt but if you give me your number, as soon as I get a job I can wire you the money." The man in front of her shook his head, "no that's okay but thanks." August nodded and they bid each other goodbye. The man stepped around her and continued on his day, slightly holding his shirt from his skin so that it didn't stick and warm him up even more than he already was. August sighed and stepped into the coffee shop, immediately getting in line behind the twelve people waiting to order put in their orders.

The shop was busy to say the least, at least twenty people were waiting on their drinks. Those with sandwiches left right after placing their orders but today everyone seemed to want to order three or more coffees. Ten minutes passed and August was finally able to order herself a large Java Frappe and a slice of banana nut bread, she then waited another twenty before getting her order but instead of heading out to find more jobs, she took one of the free newspapers and sat down, hoping that there'd be a "help wanted" ad in the paper.

She didn't have much luck on the first side of the paper, the most she'd found were apartments for rent but they went into the two thousands and she didn't need a new apartment. The second page was a little more promising but still, there wasn't any good options. She found a coffee shop three blocks away hiring evening workers so she quickly circled that, if she needed two jobs to support herself until she found one decent paying job, then she'd take it. As long as she didn't fall into debt, she now had a car and phone bills to pay. Things would get a little bit tricky if she wasn't able to pay it.

"Excuse me, can I sit here?" A young adult pointed to the seat in front of August, she nodded and went back to looking through the papers. "My name's Lucy" August sighed and sat her paper down to look at the female. On closer look she noticed the girl had vibrant blue hair and grey eyes to go with it. Her hands were stained with paint that matched her all black, vintage-gothic style. She was beautiful with pale, creamy skin and a light dusting of freckles over it. So much more beautiful then August. "August" she greeted and shook the paint covered hand. Lucy smiles and looked August up and down. "Are you new to LA?" August blushed and picked at her banana bread, she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and murmured "yeah, how'd you know?" Lucy chuckled and motioned to her shirt "only tourist end up covered in liquid during the day, they underestimated how busy it gets in the mornings and during lunch." August smiled and sipped on her drink before taking a bite of her bread.

"Are you gay by any chance?" August choked when Lucy asked her that question, she quickly swallowed a large gulp of her drink and wiped the side of her mouth. "Hm?" Lucy smirked "are you gay? Lesbian? Queer? Whatever word you prefer." Quickly August shook her head.

"I'm experimental. I like males more than females and I've been in a relationship with a man for a couple of years but before that I dated one girl which ended up in her not accepting me switching between girls and guys. I'm mostly straight though" she blushed again, this time the red turned a deep crimson color and her cheeks warmed.

"Hm" she rested her chin in her hand that was propped up by her elbows. "Good" she smirked.

The two of them sat in silence for ten more minutes while August searched through the papers and circled the jobs she wanted when she found a job listing hidden up under a celebrity report tab. It paid twenty one dollars an hour, from eight a.m. to eight p.m on Mondays through Fridays with an occasional weekend or two for extra cash. She quickly circled the address and stood up abruptly. There were walk in interviews happening all this week and next week.

Lucy follower suite. "Where are you going?" She asked "there's an interview a couple blocks away, I need to get there before they find someone for the position!" August frantically hurried to pack up her stuff, which wasn't much but she didn't want to leave a mess for the workers to pick up. After throwing her trash away she grabbed her drink and pushed open the doors.

"WAIT!" Lucy yelled from behind August. Sighed let out an angry sigh "what now!" She snapped, completely frustrated. "Your shirt, you need a new one for the interview" August looked at her chest and shook her head. "I don't have any money for a new one and I don't have time to stop by my apartment. I'll just have to go looking like this." She turned back around, planning on pushing past the mass of people when Lucy grabbed her arm. She turned around abruptly planning on yelling at her.

"Let me take you to the store so that you can pick out another shirt. I pay." She smiled. August wanted to protest but if they could get her a new shirt and sample some perfume to make her smell a little bit better than she'd take the opportunity by its balls. She nodded "Okay."
