August made quick work in talking to Ralph and setting up her tablet with all of the meetings Mr. Sterling had for the next month. He was booked full short of the Sundays and Mondays he occasionally took off. Supposedly he went to visit his house in Madrid those days. After having an eventful hour with Ralph and figuring out more of his schedule, she walked back into Sterlings office that connected to Ralph's through a short, closed in hall.
Alec was typing away on his laptop, something Ralph had mentioned Alec rarely does. He likes paperwork more than computers but knows that it's a necessary that he secretaries and PAs are equipped with the right means to handle his workload.
"Are you okay?" Mr. Sterling asked August, with a short, curt nod, August refused to remove her eyes from the screen before her. She sat down on the slightly uncomfortable chairs in front of Alecs desk, kicked her feet up and cuddled into it. She wanted to spend as much time as possible, reading and learning his schedule by memory. That way, if something were to happen to the internet or the battery died, she'd still know exactly where he needed to be and when. "Would you like something to it? It's past lunch and I haven't eaten a thing this morning, I had a late start" finally removing her eyes from the screen after remembering Alec's first weeks schedule, August looked at him confused as she blinked.
"Umm? Huh?" She mumbled tiredly. "Yea-yeah yeah sure, sure. Yeah." Alecs brows furrowed at her choice of words but paged his newest secretary nonetheless. "Mr. Westbay, can you please order me and Ms. Winters Chinese from the restaurant down the street. Give them my name and they'll know what to cook for me, get yourself something while your at it. Thank you" Alec smiled to himself as he hung up the speaker and turned back to his laptop. "I hope you like dumplings and chicken lo mien. The Chinese place down the street is the best place to eat at if you're looking for good food. Most of it is authentic but they do have some American dishes that we've added to their list over the years, like sesame seed chicken but it's divine. Everything is cooked fresh and imported from the best farmers. All natural, no added chemicals or preservatives. The last is different at first but you'll soon learn to love it." Alec gushed over the restaurant, blushing when he realized just how much he'd said.
"I'm sorry for that, that was very inappropriate of me" August waved him off with a smile, "it's okay, I like that you were passionate about the food they serve. You don't find people like that anymore, especially those with money. All they look for is the smallest of foods with the highest of prices. Never caring about flavor and quality, only that they can pay a thousand dollars more for a certain dish."
Alec gave August a genuine smile and they both fell into comfortable silence.

It didn't take long for the food to arrive and along with it, Samual Westbay. He looked to be in his mid twenties and was taller than August standing at around 6'0. Brown eyes complimented his pale complexion and rich, ink black hair adored his head. He was gorgeous in a innocent, shy kind of way.
"Thank you Westbay," Alec grinned as he grabbed the bag of Chinese from the young man's hands before he introduced the two. "August Winters meet Samual Westbay, both of you are new to the company so you'll have a lot of learning and growing to do together. Get to know each other and talk. You'll need to be friendly to both of my secretaries if you expect to succeed in your PA job, August."
Samual smiled at August before dismissing himself so that the two could eat while he caught up on work and ate his lunch, beef lo mien with two eggs rolls and wonton soup. His stomach growled at the thought.
Just like everyone new in LA, Samual struggled to pay bills and barely had enough money to buy food if he wanted to pay rent. He sacrificed food for a roof over his head and at this moment, he was glad he did. A job working with one of the best employers in America with a decent salary plus an extra two thousand dollar sign on if he worked there for a year. He'd finally be able to start his life and his business but paying off college debt was the first of his worries.
August and Alec ate in mostly silence with the occasional swipe of Alecs pen, flip of paper or click of his laptop keys. The tablet August had made no noise as she typed away on it, sending emails left and right to allied Corps. Mr. Sterling partners with. Some of the secretaries answered back fast, others not so much. In the messages sent back in forth by three of the secretaries, August was able to get to know the men and women that worked along side their CEO and a little bit more about the company.
August pulled out a pen and notepad, quickly writing the names of the company down so that she could research them a little more and hopefully get down to floor -5 where all of their company records and deals were documented. She wanted to read up on all of the faults and failures that occurred between S.T.A.R Corp and them.
Hours went by before Augusts' hand began to cramp up and cause a strain against her writing. She put down the pen and flexed her hand, "are you okay?" Mr. Sterling asked. August nodded as she stood up, "yep! I'm going to go visit Samual for a couple of minutes and get to know him, my hand is cramping and I want to give it a break before I continue, if that's okay with you, sir." Alec dismisses August with a nod and a wave of his hand, watching as she took her tablet, notepad and pen with her.
August knocked on Samual's door and waited.

Author's Note:
I'm coming along with these updates, the trick is to remember when to post to chapters not lol. I don't like setting reminders and relying on them so I try not to use them unless it's something major that I need to remember. Thankfully I remembered today to post because in like, two days it would have been officially two weeks from my last post and that would have been when I needed to post.
If you liked the chapter please share your opinions, if I miss up on anything just let me know and I'll fix it immediately. Normally when I contradict myself the first thing I wrote will stick and the second thing will change.
