Mitch rested his head on his fist. He looked at Kirstin, and saw her pouting. They had never been separated before. They didn't like that they were separated in school. His parents said it was so that they would focus, but it really just ended up annoying them both. Mitch flipped to another page of his notebook, giving up on taking notes. He didn't need to learn about how people living in the stone age hunted. Unless the school was going to drop off the students in the middle of nowhere, it would never help him.

The page he had flipped to had a half-written song in it. He started writing, making sure to mostly write when the teacher took a breath, wanting to give the appearance of taking notes.

He was saved by the bell. He put the notebook in his backpack, and rushed out of the room, speed-walking and silently cursing the person who decided that it should be against the rules to  run.

Kirstin caught up, and said, "Could you walk slower?" Mitch was about to retort when she blew right past him. He hurried to keep up.

"Also, you need to break the news soon," Kirstie whispered.

Mitch nearly stopped, fear rushing through him. Then he started walking again, wishing he didn't have to trek across the school. At least Kirstin was suffering too.

He got to class on time, and relaxed against the back of the seat. Next period was lunch. About time, too.

Scott sighed. The very last thing he wanted to learn about was how plants reproduced. He couldn't understand why anyone cared about this, and he was pouting. He didn't think it could help him. He wasn't going to work with plants. This was useless information, and his science notebook was a waste of paper.

The teacher clearly noticed how bored the kids were, and he rolled his eyes.

"I swear, high school students have no natural curiosity," he complained.

"Some kids brought protest signs to social studies when I was in seventh grade," Mitch said.

"What happened to them?" Someone asked.

Mitch shrugged. "I dunno. I called my parents to pick me up during it. It was my last day there anyway, and I was scared."

"I stayed for a week after Mitch did," Kirstin said. "It gave me a good chance to say bye to my friends. I saw what happened. They got sent to the bad kid school. I don't know what happened to them after that."

"My brother was in juvie recently," someone else said. "He saw them. So, I guess that's what happened to them."

"I'm not surprised," Mitch said. "They should have gone to that alternate school a long time before they did."

"Let's get back on topic," the teacher said, writing on the board. "Now, then, what types of plants that I wrote up here use airborne seeds to reproduce?"

Scott sighed, and raised his hand. He liked hearing Mitch talk. He was kind of cute, honestly.

I'm sorry for the long wait. I'm not sure that I really want to know how long it's been. I guess I got distracted. I haven't been on the computer very much lately.

On a very different note, this chapter will hopefully kick start the relationship between Mitch and Scott. I'll get rid of Mark and Beau, don't worry. I'm already working on how. Also, to clarify, when Kirstin mentioned Mitch having to 'break the news,' she was talking about coming out to their fans.

Again, sorry for the long wait. I'll try to do better next time.
