It's been ten years since the trio graduated from high school. Scott and his friends have all graduated from college, and Scott is a popular singer in his own right, while Mitch and Kirstie are still superstars. They never lost their fame, and their biggest scandal up until this point had been when Kirstin tried cooking various foreign foods before tours to those countries to find out what she liked and how much she appreciated the people who made them. Mitch and Scott are happy together, and Scott has opened for many of Mitch and Kirstin's tours. They're all happy.
Mitch has decided how to be happy like this forever.
Scott was standing in the wings of the stage, watching the pair perform. Or, rather, he was watching Mitch. They were singing their song Fantasy, and they sounded amazing. They always did.
They finished, and Scott smiled at Mitch. Then, to his surprise, Mitch lifted his microphone and started talking.
"So," he said. "Obviously, Fantasy is a love song. We wrote it, as many of you know, in somewhat recent years, and I had one particular person in mind when I was writing it. We both did. But the person I thought of has truly made my life a fantasy. I mean, I was a millionaire before I could drive, and I was also a famous singer, with a supportive family and a great friend group. But, my life became perfect when I started dating this person. Let me show him off. Scott Hoying, please come on the stage."
Scott walked onto the stage, mystified. "What are you doing?" he whispered to Mitch. Mitch just smiled, kissing Scott gently and quickly before turning back to the crowd.
"This," he said, "Is my sweet boyfriend. He was my high school sweetheart, and my first really great relationship. Ours was love at first sight." He turned back to Scott. "All that I've said was true," he said. "You've made my life into a perfect fantasy. This is what I daydreamed of as a preteen. I want to preserve this fantasy forever. And, so, will you, Scott Hoying, marry me?"
Scott gasped as Mitch knelt, pulling out a ring box. He opened it, and the ring was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.
Scott stared at the ring. He loved it. If the engagement ring was like this, he couldn't even imagine the wedding ring.
Then he noticed a look of real, awful fear flash across Mitch's face. It occurred to him that he had to respond.
"Yes!" he said. "Yes, I'll marry you. After all, just as much as I do the same for you, you also make my life into the most incredible fantasy."
