The room was a piecing silence at 1:26 am. Carol lay staring up at the ceiling, still full from the pizza. Valkyrie had insisted they got a large pizza each and that she paid as Carol was new.
Valkyrie had told her that Monday night was pizza night. Always. No exceptions. It was her rule and one that couldn't be broken.
Carol tried to close her eyes and get some sleep. She needed her rest for the next day.

Valkyrie slowly blinked and instantly went to cover her face when she noticed the blinding light seeping in through the window.
"Morning sleepy head." Carol grinned from her bed as she put her socks on.
"What time is it?" Valkyrie grunted.
"Six o'clock." Carol chirped.
"What is wrong with you?" Valkyrie protested as she pulled the duvet over her head.
"Not a morning person I see."
"Right now I'm not a big fan of you either." Valkyrie mumbled. "First class is at eight."
"But we have to get breakfast."
"Breakfast is a cereal bar on the way to class!"
"Yours might be."
"Did you stay on sight in your last college?"
"No."
"I'll give you two weeks to come around to college life."
"And what time will I get up then?" Carol asked.
"Ten to eight." Valkyrie murmmered.
"Seriously?" Carol exclaimed. "No way. I'm doing things my way while I can and I don't know my way around campus so..." Carol pulled the duvet off Valkyrie's curled up body making her bury herself into the mattress even more. "You have to show me."
"Piss off, Danvers!" Carol laughed at Valkyrie's complaints and wondered who would win the stubbornness war.
"You know what would be nice?"
"A new roommate." Carol ignored her and continued.
"A full breakfast. Toast that's just the right colour. A strong cup of coffee to start the day. Fresh fruit that makes your mouth water." Valkyrie turned her tired head towards Carol and sighed.
"You're a pain in the ass."
"I know." Carol grinned.
"But I'll make it two weeks." She said as she hauled herself upright. Carol cheered at her success and stood upright.

"Alright you have Watson for geography." Valkyrie said as they approached the building. "I hear he's alright but I've never had him. I'll meet you in the café at lunch?" Carol smiled at Valkyrie's request.
"That sounds great." She said calmly. Valkyrie smiled as she turned away to walk to her lesson.
"Hey er Val!" Carol called after her.
"Yeah?" Carol hesitated before speaking.
"Thanks, for the pizza and showing me around and-"
"No worries, I enjoyed it all. I like your company." Valkyrie smiled as she turned on her heels and started towards her class. Carol watched her go wishing they were in the same class. She likes my company.
