"Valkyrie!" A voice roared across the music. Valkyrie instantly knew it was Thor who was charging through the swarm of sweaty bodies towards her.

"Hey big guy." She gleamed as he bear hugged her like usual. "How long have you been here?" She shouted.

"I just arrived." He shouted back.

"And you already have a drink." She smiled.

"Yes, I made a b-line for it." He said holding the red cup up proudly. "Where's your girlfriend?" Valkyrie punched him in the arm without hesitation.

"Now you sound like everyone else. Can't a bi girl hang out with another girl without people thinking they're dating!" She exclaimed.

"Or a guy, me being the exeption of course."

"Of course."

"So you don't like her?" Valkyrie thought for a moment.

"I don't know. I don't know her well enough yet."

"That hasn't stopped you before. You usually only get into relationships with people you just met."

"I wouldn't call them relationships." She smirked. "I'm not good at relationships. Carol should have someone who is." Valkyrie said lowly. It sounded like she was saying it to herself more than Thor. "And I'm pretty sure she doesn't like me that way."

"Does she flirt back?"

"That doesn't always mean what you want it to."

"So she does." A grin started to appear on Thor's face.

"Don't you dare play matchmaker. I'm serious Thor, we're just friends." She said firmly.

"I don't even know where she is." He said innocently.

"On her way I'm sure."

"She didn't come with you?"

"No. I helped set up. It was a favour. She'll probably be here any-"

"Found her!" Thor declared too loudly. People turned their way in confusion. A few girls lingered their gaze, clearly crushing on Thor.

He pointed her out to Valkyrie who saw her instantly. Thor gave her a small shuv in Carol's direction. She turned to glare at him only to see him giving her the thumbs up. He is way to excited about this.

"Carol!" Valkyrie called once there was only half a dozen people between them. She could see some of Carol's outfit through the gaps in the crowd. She was wearing a black, shoulderless crop top that clung to her body and showed some of her toned stomach. Her jeans were also black and had a few rips in them.

Valkyrie didn't take much notice of Carol's outfit as her attention was drawn to her face and hair. Her hair was curled and hanging loose around her shoulders, glistening in the lighting of the house. She was also, to Valkyrie's surprise, wearing make up. It was nothing heavy or excessive but it made Carol look different. A lot different.

"Hey." Carol said warmly.

"Hi, you look really nice." Valkyrie stated confidently. Carol blushed and tried to avert her gaze.

"Thanks, you er- you look really nice too." She stammered. They held each other's gaze for a moment before Valkyrie spoke up.

"Wanna get a drink?"

"Sure."

They made their way over to the kitchen where alcohol bottles and cups were scattered over the counter.

"What do you want?" Valkyrie said as she picked up a couple of clean cups.

"Um..." Carol said unsurely. She had no idea what to pick from the wide choice infront of her. She'd usually just go with a beer. As if on queue a couple of Valkyrie's friends got her attention.

"Valkyrie! You up for beer pong?" They asked holding up a ping pong ball.

"Hell yeah!" Valkyrie grinned and grabbed Carol's hand. She brought them outside without asking Carol if she wanted to play. "You good at this?" She asked Carol.

"I've never played before." Carol said honestly.

"Don't worry, you're on my team."

"I'm guessing you're good at this."

"I'm a pro." She winked before taking the first shot. Her confident words were proven right. The ping pong ball landed smoothly in one of the opposite side's cup on her first try.

"Wow." Carol muttered.

"Lucky shot." A guy on the opposite side said as he picked up the ball. His friend chugged the cup as he took aim.

"You're already sounding like a saw loser, Walker." Valkyrie grinned. He threw the ball with too much power. It bounced off the table and Carol caught it with one hand.

Valkyrie took a step back and motioned for Carol to take her turn. She quickly threw the light ping pong ball across the table, landing perfectly in a cup. She smiled at herself and turned to Valkyrie who gave an approving nodd.

"Not bad."

A few minutes later the two guys had drunk all of the cups on their side whilst Carol and Valkyrie had about half. Carol had been surprised at how good she was at the game.

"We gotta do that again!" Carol exclaimed throwing her arms around Valkyrie's neck. The alcohol had given her the extra boost of confidence she needed. "That was so fun!" Carol could hear Valkyrie laugh with her head burried into her neck.

"Maybe later." She said pushing away.

"But we're a great team."

"Yep, and those guys were pretty bad."

"What else are we gonna do? Talk to girls!" Carol laughed at her own words and Valkyrie smiled at her reaction.

"Yeah, you do that lightweight."

"Hey! I'm not- I'm fine! Hey, what if girls talked to us." She gasped.

"If their gaydar is even half as good as mine-"

"Well...Your bi-fi is really strong." Valkyrie smiled at Carol's drunken words.

"You come up with that by yourself?" Carol hesitated a moment before answering.

"Yes... No." She admitted honestly, stumbling to the side a little.

"Seriously, you didn't even drink that much!" Valkyrie exclaimed as she supported Carol.

"I had more than you!" She shot back.

Carol spent most of the evening trying to flirt with girls. Valkyrie knew she would be doing a lot better if she wasn't getting increasingly drunk. Valkyrie watched most of the interactions behind her hands and laughed at the others. Turns out Carol had a terrible gaydar and couldn't tell straight from gay.

"You're not even trying!" Carol exclaimed as she stumbled back over to Valkyrie. She tried to stiffle a laugh everytime Carol tripped over thin air.

"I don't feel like it tonight." She said simply. "You wanna go back now?"

"Yeah, maybe. I guess." Carol trailed off.

"I'll take your first answer." Valkyrie said as she led Carol to her car. She waved a goodbye to Thor across the garden who gave her the thumbs up again.

"You have a car!" Carol shouted in disbelief as she gaped at Valkyrie's jet black raptor ford.

"Yep. My family lives in the country so a car like this is ideal. And there's no buses near my place." Valkyrie explained, knowing Carol probably wouldn't remember it the next day.

"Are they rich?" Carol asked half-joking half-serious but Valkyrie didn't reply.

She helped Carol into the car without hitting her head and got in the other side. Carol fell into a deep sleep quickly on the drive back. The drive was only twenty minutes and the roads were quiet during the late hours.

Once Valkyrie had parked she sat back in her seat and looked over at Carol. Her blond hair had fallen infront if her eyes and Valkyrie didn't hesitate to gently brush it aside, her fingers brushing Carol's cheek. She glanced at the time on her phone reading 12:23 am.

"You're gonna hate me tomorrow for not making us leave earlier." She sighed.
