Valkyrie woke up with her arms around Carol's waist. She smiled to herself happily and moved the other girl's blonde hair away from her face. Their faces were inches apart, making Valkyrie smile more. Carol looked so peaceful when she slept. Her calmness was contagious and Valkyrie enjoyed the moment while it lasted. She knew they couldn't stay in bed together forever, but it didn't stop her from wishing.
Carol mumbled as she slowly opened her eyes to meet Valkyrie's.
"Hey." Valkyrie said, kissing Carol's forehead lightly.
"Hey." Carol grinned in response. She acknowledged Valkyrie's warm hand around her waist and moved closer to her comforting body, pulling her into a hug.
"Yesterday was fun." Carol smiled against Valkyrie's chest.
"Mmhmm." Valkyrie hummed, remembering it all clearly. "This is nice too."
"This is perfect." Carol said as she traced circles with her finger over Valkyrie's chest. "And it's kinda giving me deja vu." Valkyrie smiled at the fond memory.
"I'll always be here when you need me. You know that right?" Carol looked up to face Valkyrie.
"I do. And you have me too." Carol said as she reached up to kiss the other girl.
"I know, I'm grateful." Their words were genuine. They did care deeply for one another and their happiness and success was important to them.
"Can we stay here for a while?" Carol asked as she rested her head on Valkyrie's chest again.
"Of course. As long as you want, or untill my mum comes in."
"Or we get hungry." Valkyrie chuckled softly and started stroking Carol's soft hair. They lay in a comfortable silence for a few minutes until Carol startled them both.
"Hic!"
"Have you got the hiccups?" Valkyrie laughed.
"No- Hic!!" Valkyrie laughed more and Carol couldn't help but join her. "God damm it!" She exclaimed. The pair's laughter grew after ever hiccup until eventually they settled down again, thinking the hiccups had gone.
"That was adorable." Valkyrie smiled warmly as she kissed Carol's head.
"You're a- hic aDORKable." Carol grinned, looking up at Valkyrie who smiled back.

"Hey you two." Valkyrie's mum greeted as they pair shuffled sleepily into the kitchen.
"Hey." They said in unison. Valkyrie kissed her mum on the cheek and gave her a half hug before reaching for the cereal.
"Sleep well?"
"Perfectly." Valkyrie said and Carol nodded in agreement as the pair gave each other a knowing smile.
"You're welcome to sleep here any time, dear." She said to Carol.
"Thanks, I appreciate it."
"I'll leave you to it." She smiled before leaving the kitchen.
"You have a great mum." Carol said, leaning against the kitchen island.
"Yeah... I'm lucky." Valkyrie said as she turned her back to pour the cereal out. Carol strolled towards her and wrapped her arms around Valkyrie's waist to her lower chest and rested her head in the crook of her neck. Valkyrie smiled and tried not to get distracted by Carol's body leaning into hers.
"Speaking of." Carol grinned acknowledging the cereal.
"Lucky charms is all we have!" Valkyrie said defensively. "Aiden likes them."
"I doubt he's the only one."
"If you don't like them I can have both bowls." Valkyrie smiled as she poured the milk in.
"I never said that." Carol said, taking her arms off the smaller girls waist. Valkyrie noticed and instantly longed for them back.
"That's what I thought." She said as she handed Carol the bowl with a spoon. "Let's sit outside." Valkyrie led the way.
"I don't think I can climb a tree whilst holding a bowl of cereal."
"That's why we have a table." Valkyrie replied as she stepped outside and moved to the left.
Carol followed suit and saw the circular wooden table with matching chairs on the small patio, that she hadn't noticed before.
Valkyrie put her bowl down and pulled a chair out for her, staying behind it. Carol smiled knowing what she was doing and sat down in the chair. Valkyrie moved towars to tuck the chair in for her and sat in the chair opposite, grinning. Carol thought the small gesture was sweet and she planned on doing the same one day.
It was a warm temperature outside with a gentle breeze in the air. The garden smelt pleasant from all the flowers lined up on the border.
"There isn't really much to do here because... Well... we're in the middle of nowhere." Valkyrie said. " But we could watch a movie later, if you want to."
"First of all, I'm sure there's a lot to do here." She smirked. Valkyrie instantly knew what she meant and smiled. "And second, what kind of movie were you thinking."
"What do you like?" Carol thought for a moment.
"I'm a sucker for superhero movies." A grin formed on Valkyrie's lips.
"I know just the thing."
