"Hey!" Valkyrie called as she waved her hand to gain Carol's attention. She made her way over to her small table where Valkyrie sat eating a sandwich.

"Hi." Carol greeted as she slumped her bag down next to her chair. "It's surprisingly quiet in here." Carol noticed.

"You'd be surprised how many people don't have lunch in college. And most who do eat off campus or in their rooms." Carol nodded as she continued to look around.

"How's your first day going?" Valkyrie asked taking a bit from her sandwich.

"It's alright. Geogaphy's pretty boring but I guess I expected that. And it's nothing like high school where everyone wants to meet the new girl." She said. Valkyrie tried to hold back a laugh.

"Oh yeah? That disappointing to you?"

"No, I'm kind of an introvert." She stated. Valkyrie looked at her for a moment like she was trying to read her.

"I see that."

"Are you a people person?" Carol asked, curious.

"Depends on the person." She grinned. This again. Carol thought.

"I'm gonna get some food." Carol said as she got up from her seat. As soon as she disappeared a tall blonde girl walked over to Valkyrie's table confidently a leant down on the table.

"Hey, Val." The girl said sweetly.

"Em." Valkyrie said not meeting her gaze.

"Who's your new friend?" She asked innocently.

"Why are you interested?" Valkyrie said quickly.

"It's just nice to see you hanging out with someone other than that junior guy."

"I have other friends you know."

"So she is just a friend. Makes sense, you only seem to go after butch girls." Valkyrie dropped her sandwich and rose from her chair in an instant. Positioning her face inches away from Em's who had a smug smile plastered on her lips.

"Are you going to punch me?" Em asked.

"Kinda seems like you want me to." Valkyrie snapped.

"Val?" Carol spoke from behind her. Valkyrie turned towards Carol but Em smoothly approached her with a perfect smile.

"Hi, I'm Em." She said holding her hand out for Carol to shake.

"Carol." She said simply, ignoring Em's hand and instead walking towards Valkyrie.

"You alright?" Valkyrie opened her mouth to speak but Em beat her to it.

"She's fine. We both are." She said appearing at Carol's side.

"I have to go but I hope I get to see you again soon, Carol." She said placing her hand on Carol's arm gently. She held Valkyrie's gaze for a moment, her hand still on Carol, before strolling out of the café.

"Who's that?" Carol asked.

"A bitch. A sociopathic bitch. Try to avoid her." Carol nodded half heartedly. "I mean it Carol, she's trouble."
