jeongchan oneshots

three hours

Jeongin had three hours left to live. The life-threatening disease had finally spread to vital organs, and the doctors only gave him three hours before it would reach his heart. Jeongin tried his hardest to keep a smile on his face for his lover, but Chan was a sobbing mess. 

The two of them had wed two years ago, and they were the happiest they had ever been. However, good things never last. Chan hadn't been eating, slowly starving himself. He simply couldn't imagine a life without his wonderful husband, so despite the complaints and pleads he would hear constantly from Jeongin, he wouldn't touch any form of sustenance besides the occasional glass of water. 

Chan could barely stand without crumpling over, but he remained strong for Jeongin, knowing that the pain he felt was nothing compared to what his husband had been going through for the past eight months. 

So, ignoring the immense pain in his head and torso, Chan smiled sadly, before lacing his hand with Jeongin's and leading him out the door. The two of them piled into the car, Chan insisting he could drive, and they were off. 

They arrived at the hospital an hour later. Two hours left. Chan helped Jeongin up and out of the car, before wrapping his arms around him and supporting most of his weight as he carried him inside. The duo was immediately brought to a room, where they laid beside each other in the small bed they were given. 

Chan and Jeongin reminisced about all the things they had done as a couple, laughing at all the insignificant fights they had. Jeongin hadn't realized how much time had gone by. Five minutes.

Jeongin shook Chan's arm. No response. 

"Chan?!" Jeongin shook more vigorously, tears falling down his cheekbones. 

Jeongin had four minutes left, and his lover was dead. 

Three minutes, and he was crying harder than he ever had.

Two minutes, and he was terrified.

One minute, he kissed Chan's lifeless lips one final time.

Then he was gone.
