"Kaaaaiiiiiiiiii," I hear Bayli call and latch onto my back making me drop my books on the floor.
"Dammit Bayli get off," I say while closing my locker and picking up my books.
"Oh you love me, anyways guess who's back?" She asks.
"Who? Your imaginary boyfriend?" say back.
She rolls her eyes and before she says anything else, I feel a arm wrap around my shoulders from behind me and my books hit the floor once again.
"JESUS! Really dude??" I pick up my books faster this time due to furiousness and spin around to see who had just attacked me. My books dropped to the floor once again (poor guys, taking so much abuse today.) and a wild smile spread across my face to see who stood in front of me.
It was Faith who was now out of the hospital from surgery which she has been in for a week. She had something going on with her leg which Bayli and I have been fully supporting with hospital visits and big stuffed animals. I got her a frog, twice the size of her and her eyes lit up when I got it for her cause I knew how much she loved it at the store. The big red bow and the blushy cheeks and various colors of green on it got her all jumpy about the frog. We missed her a great deal, and can't even go a weekend without her, I think that night with Bayli was the only night without Faith.
Didn't I mention that? Oops...
"How are you?" I said happily.
"Doing and feeling much better actually" she replied with a smile.
Faith was looking better than she has been the past week. Besides the big cast on her left leg and her crutch, her face has gained back its glow and her freckles still dance across her face. Her smile is still as bright as her neon braces and her hair the same everyday loose curls. She was about my height, so we both made fun of Bayli's shorter one. And I'd be lying if I say I'm not jealous of her gorgeous looks.
"I'm glad you're back" I say still hugging her tightly. Bayli comes and hugs her too and then we hear the bell ring, signaling that we were late for 7th period. We all rushed to drama class and sat down. Matt came in late as well and took a seat right next to me. He had something in his hand, but it was almost like he was hiding it from me, so I didn't see what it was.
"Hey," Matthew whispered slinging an arm around the back of my chair.
"Hey," I whispered back earning a few glares from some preppy girls at the other side of the room. I looked the other way at Bayli and Faith who were glaring harshly at them. Oh my god I love them so much.
Ms. Daya started speaking, "Class, I need to do a few things down at the office and Mr. Smith will be checking up on you guys every once in a while. I trust that you guys will be on your best behavior, farewell." And with that, she made her way to the door.
'Best behavior' she doesn't know us at all.
"So Kai..." Matthew started as Ms. Daya walked out into the hall, "Ya know about the Halloween party tomorrow night? Yea, well, I was wondering if you would like to go with me?" He then pulled up his arm that wasn't slung around my chair and handed me a rose.
My smile grew wide. "Oh of course Matt!" I took the flower and leaned over to place a kiss on his cheek.
I heard the girls' aww and I stuck my tongue out at them.

Last period went by pretty quickly, hence the fact that all we did was shit around in drama.
I had just closed my locker when someone had covered my eyes.
I laughed, "Luke. I know it's you Luke."
He uncovered my eyes and smiled, "How'd you know?"
"You're the only one that does that stupid," I chuckled.
We walked down the hall and when we reached the front doors, Luke took notice to the flower I clutched in my hand.
"What's that?" He asked while pointing to it.
"A rose from Matt. He asked me to the Halloween party tomorrow." I looked at Luke who's face stayed blank.
"Oh, see ya tomorrow" was all he said before he departed and walked the other way to his car.
I was genuinely confused at his goodbye. He always offered me a ride or gave me a hug before he left.
He's been acting strange lately, and I don't have a clue as to why...
Maybe I'll find out tomorrow.
