The first thing I noticed when I woke was a pain in my chest. Not as bad as it was before I passed out, but still very uncomfortable. The second thing I noticed was people shuffling around me. I tensed slightly before forcing myself to relax.' You're in a hospital. You are safe.' I chanted in my head. I breathed in and out trying to calm myself.
What felt like an eternity passed before I got the courage to open my eyes. I blinked rapidly as light swamped my vision. After a few seconds, I was able to see the room. It was large, white, and clean. The smell of sterilization and the sound of beeping filled the room. Looking around I noticed at least two male doctors.
"H-hello?" I croaked out. I shifted to get a better view. The doctors turned around and gaped at me.
"Hey there Ms. Yagami. Are you ok?" one of the men asked coming up to me. I nodded looking around.
"W-what happened to m-me?" I asked. The man shifted uncomfortably before sighing.
"You had a heart attack Ms. Yamgami. We think.......it was caused by Kira. I have to ask you to wait for your family before I answer any more questions." The man said checking my IV and monitor. I nodded before my eyes widened.' Oh, crap. They know I'm not human.' I thought starting to panic. My heart monitor beeped frantically as I began to hyperventilate.
"Miss, please calm down." the man said soothingly trying to calm me down. I nodded closing my eyes and trying to take deep breaths. Eventually, my hearts stopped racing and I could think clearly again.
"Sorry, sir. I have a bad fear of hospitals." I lied trying to keep the fact I knew a secret. The man nodded giving me a reassuring smile. I smiled back before closing my eyes again.
TIME SKIP
After about three days I was finally out of the hospital. though that was mainly because I wouldn't stop trying to get out of bed. I mean come on hospitals are boring! I grinned widely as I ran up the stair and into my room. My family and the doctors never said anything about my hearts and other medical oddities, but I knew that they simply thought it wasn't something I should know.
I smiled before jumping on my bed. I was so happy to be back here. My smile quickly turned into a frown as I thought about how close I was to regenerating. If I had been unable to heal myself I would have literally exploded in the middle of the hospital with hundreds of witnesses and possibly several casualties. I winced that would have been bad. I had to be careful from now on. Luckily I planned ahead even if I didn't know what was going to happen. Also, my proxies meeting with the people bringing in BB didn't get disturbed even with my brief healing coma.
Meanwhile At The Police Department
"Another 6 inmates were found dead last night? All were heart attacks? It's him. Bizarre behavior before they died? Could you be more specific? So they didn't just die from heart attacks?" Soichiro asked confused while looking over the file.
"No. What I'm saying is they all died of heart attacks but it wasn't quite that simple. Before one of them died, he drew a pentagram on the wall of his cell using his own blood. Another left a letter but it doesn't seem to be a will or anything meaningful. And as for the third victim, he escaped from his cell and ran all the way to the staff bathrooms before he died." the man answered. On the other side of the room Watari observed the situation before turning on a wireless transmitter.ne
"What is it, Watari?" L asked through the device.
"Three more heart attack victims. But the circumstances of their deaths are different from what we've seen thus far." Watari responded calmly.
