Ch 12. Doctors And Tears

It had been a month since the accident and the task force had all but given up hope. I had started locking myself in my room only allowing Jack and BB in. I had easily forgiven BB for the dangerous prank, but was still a little tense around him. I was currently trying to counter Kira as Tenshi as it was currently the only option until The Doctor came. I had been up the entire month tirelessly writing names without a single minute of sleep. My head snapped up as Jack walked in with a huge grin on his face.

"Hey Tsuki! The Doctor has arrived!!" Jack announced before running back downstairs. I stared in shock before the words sank in. I got up so fast that the chair skidded loudly across the room, before practically racing down stairs. The moment I got to the bottom of the stairs I felt a connection snap into place. I halted realizing this was what The Doctor must have meant by being able to 'feel' his people. The connection was warm, gentle, and bright but also cold, harsh, and dark. I cringed as I realized the darker feelings were a result of Gallifray's destruction and the Time-War. I continued forward at a cautious but steady pace.

For just a moment I stalled in the door way as everyone turned toward me. My double hearts were beating so fast I couldn't hear anything. I took a step forward then another and another. My eyes zeroed in on The Doctor as I fear threatened to consume me. To say I was scared of The Doctor would be like asking if a mouse was scared of a cat. The Doctor's face flashed between emotions so fast that I could barely keep up. Shock, disbelief, hope, fear, sadness, and finally anger washed over The Doctor's face before he settled for a emotionless mask.

I walked past everyone and up to the Time-Lord. The Time-Lord's eyes gazed around the room as if he was deciding whether or not he was in a dream or hallucination.

"Hey Doctor. My name is Tsuki. I am glad you could make it, even if you were a month late." I said softly as I watched The Doctor's attention snapped back to me.

"B-but, this is i-impossible.' The Doctor managed to croak out." I k-killed them all. How a-are you here."

I cringed a the pain etched into his voice and face. I hesitated before scooping him up into a hug. The Doctor closed his eyes as tears slowly began running down his face.

"It's ok Doc, I'm here now. I promise to never leave you alone." I whispered into the broken mans ear before slowly ending the hug. I smiled softly as The Doctor quickly reasserted his mask.

"How did you escape Gallifray? How did I not notice you? How long have bee-" The Doctor began spouting before Jack who had come to see if we needed anything nudged The Doctor. I laughed slightly at the pout The Doctor gave Jack.

"Doctor she has just met you. Give her a moment to breath." Jack chided lightly at The Doctor. The Doctor rolled his eyes at Jack but stepped down.

"Alright Jack. Now will anyone care to tell me about what was so urgent?" The Doctor asked as he looked around the assembled Task-Force. After a moment of silence Watari stepped up.

"Sir I think if we are going to be working any further on this case in L's absence I would like if Tenshi were to make a appearance." Watari stated in a practiced mono-tone voice. I felt my breath hitch as the Task-Force nodded along with The Doctor even though he clearly didn't know a thing about what they were talking about. The group chattered as I tuned out their conversation.

"Tsuki?" a voice cut through my brief silent bliss. I shot a half-hearted glare at BB who had been calling me.

"Yes Beyond?" I responded tilting my head slightly.

"The Task-Force and The Doctor have agreed to meet Tenshi." Beyond stated a hint of worry in his voice. I nodded sighing. Suddenly a question popped in my head. I turned toward The Doctor who was having a chat with Jack.

"Hey, Doc?" I started as I walked up to the pair. The two stopped talking as I approached. Jack smirked at the nickname, The Doctor huffed slightly before gazing curiously in my attention.

"Can you heal people from coma's" I asked desperately hoping to be able to revive L. The Doctor looked thoughtful before eventually nodding.

"Yes." He stated with a slightly guarded expression. I nodded before looking at Watari.

"Could I convince you to help L?" I asked hopefully.
