Ch 2. Planning and Messaging

I blinked my eyes open, to see the light shining through the window. With a reluctant sigh I sat up yawning, my arms stretching wide. I got out of the bed and headed to the closet to get changed. After getting my clothes on, I made my way to my desk. I had to plan out my next moves if I wanted to accomplish anything.' Well time to get my plans written out.' I thought.' First things first, I need is to make a list of things I need to do.' I reached over to my drawer and grabbed a random piece of paper, before preceding to write down a concrete plan of action.

1. Build a reputation as Tenshi ( check )

2. Save Lind L. Taylor from Kira (Work In Progress)

3. Join the investigation (Pending)

4. Save Ukita by making him wear a mask (Pending)

5. Convince Misa to give up the Death Note (Pending)

6. Save L (Pending)

7. Free BB (Pending)

I looked over the list with a frown once I finished it, I wouldn't be able to act on anything till L's public challenge. For now it would be smart to try and free BB, the fact that the serial killer had the shinigami eyes was priceless.' Convincing Beyond is going to be pretty difficult as he would automatically be inclined to join Kira for the opportunity to kill L, assuming that he still had that thirst for revenge.' I thought bitterly.' However, having someone with natural Shinigami eyes would be extremely valuable to the Task Force. Not to mention it would be worth the risk, and if I promise to buy strawberry jam he should be cooperative enough.' I chuckled slightly at the thought.

I turned to my computer before opening a voice changer program, once I set it up I called the British prison in which BB was being held in. I took a deep breath as I waited for the person on the other side to pick up, hopefully my reputation was enough to get them to listen. If not I could just use the 'I'm working for L' card.

"Hello, officers, I am Tenshi. I am asking you to release BB the custody of Japan. The Japanese police force has requested his help in the Kira investigation as he might know of key information about the case. I know this goes against the law but due to the unorthodox situation its imperative that we thing outside the box to capture Kira." I paused the recording." For those who are unsure of this message's validity, I will say this. I work for L, if you question this you can ask the detective himself. I simply ask you to cooperate so we can help move the Investigation along. Thank you for listening, I'll be in touch."

As soon as I finished speaking I hung up, not wanting to give the people on the other end a chance to get a word in otherwise. I leaned back in my chair turning to stare at the TV in contemplation, things had certainly changed for me since coming to this new world. I briefly wondered if God was watching this, or if the deity wad doing other important things.

I was sitting at my desk deep in thought when I heard a squeal, I turned to see Sayu standing there breathing hard. I blinked in confusion, wondering why my little sister was so flustered and out of breath. Had something happened, I certainly didn't remember anything in canon that would cause this.

"Tsuki!! Guess what!! Mom said I can come to your entry exam at To-Oh!!" Sayu exclaimed practically shouting. I winced at the volume of my sisters words before freezing.' Wait a minute, this didn't happen in the anime. Oh, no! How am I going to keep Sayu away from L and Light now.' I thought frantically. In the midst of my panic I forgot Sayu was talking until she spoke up again.

"I can't believe you and Light get to go to To-Oh!!" Sayu groaned gushing, clearly mildly jealous of the fact. I shook my head fondly, wishing I could keep Sayu innocent forever.

"Sayu, do you mind if I ask why mom said you could go?" I asked curiously only for Sayu to stop talking and look over at me in confusion.

"Tsuki, you were the one to ask, I just came to tell you that mom said yes." Sayu said slowly. My eyes widened in surprise before a realization hit.' Right. I only arrived here the day that Light found the Death Note. Anything before that was unknown to me.' I thought wondering what else I didn't know about my life before now.

"Right! Sorry, I just forgot Sayu. Thanks for the reminder." I said hastily. Sayu looked at me in contemplation before quickly hugging me and running down the hall.' Probably to tell Light.' I thought suppressing concern, before turning back to my desk.

"Great now I have to save the world, L, and protect my sister from my psychotic brother. How hard can it be?" I grumbled out, before I got up and headed downstairs.

Once in the kitchen I grabbed an apple just as Light walked in. Knowing that Light recently met Ryuk did nothing to dampen the fangirl in me, I had to literally suppress the urge to squeal in excitement.

"Hey, Light!!" I greeted cheerfully as I took a bite of the apple, trying my hardest not to laugh at the longing look on Ryuk's face. Light smiled slightly before grabbing an apple himself, most likely to give to Ryuk later.

"Light? Why did you scream last night?" I asked casually as I tried to fish for information. Light looked startled for a second before he composed himself, his eyes shifting ever so slightly towards Ryuk.

"Oh. I saw a spider.'' Light lied with a shrug and I blinked in disbelief.' A spider. Was that the best excuse he could come up with?' I thought trying to contain giggles, even though Light was evil he sure was funny.

"Okay," I said slowly." That makes no sense. You're not afraid of spiders."

Light looked uncomfortable, his patience clearly losing the battle.

"Just drop it. Ok." Light snapped before turning toward the stairs and heading back up to his room. I blink in surprise, not having expected his mood shift so soon.' Wow. He's already spiraled out of control enough to snap at family.' I thought, a pang of sadness at the realization. I knew that the Death Note corrupted anyone who used it, but this was extremely rapid change. How had no one noticed the shift in his behavior, even if he wasn't Kira this would still be concerning.

I looked at the remains of my apple solemnly before throwing it out and making my way back upstairs to my room, before plopping onto the bed. I sighed feeling slightly down after my talk with Light, turning my head slightly I spotted my calendar.' Crap!! I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, how am I going to hide my second heart?!' I thought in concern, not to mention the other nonhuman aspects. Unless my condition was the same before waking in this world, however that wasn't a guarantee.

"Maybe I can ask for them to postpone it for a few days." I said thinking out loud.' Great now there's another roadblock in my way.' I thought worried that the road blocks were getting more and more serious.

I laid back and closed my eyes.' Maybe I'll have a nap.' I thought sleepily before closing my eyes. The last thing I heard was a bird hitting my bedroom window, as the world faded out.
