TIMESKIP 2 WEEKS
I was laying on my bed groaning.' God, I'm so bored. L still hasn't challenged Kira/Light. plus I'm still waiting for that reply from the asylum BB is in.' I thought in annoyance. I pulled myself up off my bed and made my way out of the house. I had woken up early to write down some names, people were even requesting my help with reviving their relatives who died recently. I sighed, between My night job as Tenshi and my preparations for the entrance exams I got less than four hours of sleep every day.
After getting to the library my phone ringed looking at the number I almost squealed. turning on my voice modifier I answered the phone." Did you think about my request?" I asked." Yes, we did Tenshi." the man on the other end stated." What's your answer?" I asked curiously. There was a moment of silence." We will approve the transfer." the man stated hesitantly. I blinked in surprise having expected problems." Understood. I will send you the address of the meeting place. Please be aware that my identity must be kept a secret. As such I will send someone to oversee the transfer." I said calmly." Understood Tenshi. Just....be warned he's very unpredictable." the man said." Alright. Got it. Bye." I said before hanging up, a small smile on my face.
<Meanwhile in the police department>
"There've been 52 deaths that we're aware of and that's just in the past week." someone said.
"Every single one of them involved a heart attack." Another spoke up.
"They were all criminals who were either being held in prison or who were wanted by police for outstanding crimes. And I think it's safe to say there are other criminals whose deaths are unaccounted for." The first man spoke again.
"In which case, the death toll could be well over 100." A third man spoke up.
An older man named Soichiro appeared and joined the meeting. He sat next to Matsuda as the conversation continued.
"Oh, morning, chief. They started the meeting without you." Matsuda said cheerfully. watching his Chief sit down.
"That's fine. I had to take an urgent call from headquarters." Soichiro said. He looked around as the others continued their debate.
"At any rate, these were criminals who were probably facing executions sooner or later. Perhaps we shouldn't.." The first man started.
"Why should it matter whether it's a criminal or someone innocent? Last time I checked, murder was still murder." The second man snapped.
"It's still too early to consider these a homicide." The third man said speaking up again.
"Then how did all these people have heart attacks at the exact same time? That's not a coincidence. It's murder." The second man said frustratedly.
"You think it's possible to simultaneously kill all these people in different locations." Said the third man still denying the truth.
"We're treating this as an elaborate murder plot that has been carried out by a large organization." A fourth voice spoke up.
"If it is a large organization, I'm sure I'm not alone in suspecting the FBI or CIA." The first man said.
"I dare you to say that again!" A fifth man snarled.
"Now, now. This is not the time to be joking around. We need to confirm that these are indeed homicide and not coincidences." Another voice spoke up in a chiding tone.
"How? Autopsy results show that in all of these cases the victims died of a sudden heart attack." The first man said annoyed.
"Investigating a series of heart attacks is pointless. I don't see what else we can learn." The fourth said bluntly.
