I walked down the hall in thought as I went over the conversation with Watari. I was scared at the moment and didn't know what to do. I hadn't realized Time-Lords were so dependent on their mates. As I turned the corner I nearly bumped into Jack who looked startled to see me. I stared at the immortal man as shuffled nervously.
"Hey, Tsuki. I was looking for you. I'm so sorry for blaming you like that, I just still have nightmares of that year that I was with The Master. I didn't mean to take it out on you." Jack whispered looking down in guilt. I searched his face for a minute before sighing in defeat.
"I already forgave you, Jack. You're like a brother to me, no matter what you say." I responded with a small smile. Jack looked at me in relief. I had a sneaking suspicion that Dad threatened the man with death for eternity if he didn't apologize and mean it.
"Thank sis." Jack said with a grin making me roll my eyes.
"I just have to talk to L. Then we can hang-out, you can invite Beyond as well." I said before hugging Jack and saying goodbye. I walked into the room where L was and saw him looking through documents.
"Hey, L. Could talk to you it's important." I asked sitting on a chair across from the pale detective. L looked up and must have seen the severity of my face because he put the document down.
"Of course, Ms. Yagami." L said. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
"Time-Lords have a genetic ability that is similar to how humans perceive soulmates. I am telling this sacred knowledge because you're my bond-mate. I would normally ignore it but if we don't bond....both of us will die." I said trying to be as blunt as possible.
"I see." L murmured. I waited for him to think about what I had revealed. It was going to have to be resolved soon so that we could avoid the side-effects of an uncomplete bond.
"You don't have to pursue a relationship. We can complete the bond then go about our normal lives." I offered hoping he would want to be with me.
"I suppose it would hurt to bond. How does one complete the bond." L asked after what felt like a century. I closed my eyes in surprised relief at the acceptance. The feeling of something snapping into place in my mind filled my senses for a moment.
"You just did. The bond requires agreement on both ends." I said explaining. L nodded a small barely noticeable smile on his face.
"Alright....Tsuki. We'll deal with the rest after the investigation." L decided. I nodded and got up turning toward the door heppy to have dodged another metaphorical bullet.
