Scenario: After Clem is hospitalized, she's been down. Louis tries to cheer her up.

--

"Ugh!" Clem shouted in frustration. It'd been 4 days since she had come into the hospital, and she was still there. She had broken her leg, and she was getting very annoyed that she couldn't do anything. She couldn't even go and get her own food.

She had been waiting for Louis to come to see her for hours, he'd been having to stay at work late recently because his boss wanted all of his time and attention on his piano. His boss wouldn't let him go until around 10 pm every night.

Clem stared at the clock on the wall. It read 10:30 pm. She perked up, this was about the usual time Louis could make it to see her.

She heard footsteps in the hallway, looking out the window to see it was just a doctor. She slumped back down, feeling lonely. She hadn't spoken to anyone who wasn't a doctor in hours.

She sipped her water, waiting for him. She started to grow impatient.

After a while, she looked at the clock again. 11 pm.

What is taking him so long?, she thought.

She picked up the book on her bedside table that she had read twice in the 4 days she had been here. She wanted to rip it to shreds. She couldn't even use her phone because the battery was dead and she didn't have a charger. She had asked Louis to bring her one the last time he visited.

She heard more footsteps. That must be him, right? She saw her door open, and Louis walked in.

"Hey... sorry I'm later than I usually am, you know how my boss is." he said.

"It's fine..." Clem said.

"But hey, I brought you these." he said, giving her flowers. She looked at the ones beside her. They were dead and wilting. She smiled and replaced them with the old ones.

"And this." he said, handing her a phone charger.

"Oh my god, you have no idea how much I've needed this." she said. She plugged it in and put her phone on charge.

He sat on the chair beside her bed.

"Did you have a good day?" she asked.

"For the most part." he said.

"What about you?" he asked.

"Well the most exciting thing that happened today was two old ladies fighting over who got the last piece of cake. I mean it's hospital food, the cake isn't even good." she said, earning a chuckle from Louis.

"I missed you a lot." she said.

"I know, I missed you too. When did the doctor say you can leave?" he asked.

"He said in the next few days, so I'm stuck here." she said.

"I'll keep coming every day, granted my boss doesn't work me to death." he said. Clem laughed.

"I've not heard you laugh since you've been in here. It's good to hear your laugh again." he said.

She finally took the time to look at him. He had dark circles under his eyes due to not enough sleep.

"Louis, you look exhausted.." she said.

"I'm okay.. besides, I'd rather be here with you than anywhere else." he said.

"But you haven't slept properly in days." she said.

"I'm not just gonna leave you here by yourself every day." he said.

"But I don't want you to stop looking after yourself because of me. Please go home, and get a decent sleep." she said, taking his hand.

His thumb brushed over her ring, and he looked down at it.

"When your leg is healed, we'll finally be able to get married." he said with a smile.

"I can't wait." she replied.

"But for now, I want you to get a decent sleep tonight. Promise me you will." she said.

"Okay... I promise." he said.

"Good. I'll see you tomorrow, okay? I love you." she said.

He kissed her forehead. "I love you too."

He stood up, and Clem smiled as he left, closing the door softly behind him. She lay down and closed her eyes, smiling because she had helped him after he had been helping her so much for the past few days.

She couldn't wait to marry him when her leg had healed. She drifted to sleep, smiling until she woke up.
