"Stay the fuck away from him!" Clem shouted.

Gabe smirked, stepping forward slowly.

"Stay back!" Clem said. Louis couldn't do anything, it hurt to move, it hurt to even breathe.

Gabe knelt down beside Louis.

"Sorry things had to go this way. But I promise, I'll take good care of Clem." Gabe said.

Clem put her hand on Louis's cheek, moving his head to face her. "Listen to me Lou, you're not gonna die. I won't let you die, I promise."

He shakily raised a bloodied hand, and held her hand that was on his cheek.

"You're gonna be okay, I promise.." she said.

"That's a nice gesture, only that he won't. It's only a matter of time before he bleeds out. Then what? He'll turn." Gabe said.

Behind Gabe, Clem could see the door open, and Violet silently stepped in, meat cleaver in hand. Clem slightly nodded, and before Gabe could turn around, Violet had killed him, throwing her cleaver down on his head.

"Fuck..." Clem muttered, her attention going back to Louis.

"J-just stay awake Louis, Violet, go get Ruby quickly." Clem said. Violet nodded and ran out the room.

"C-Clem.." he said.

"No no no don't talk, save your strength." Clem said, stroking his head in a comforting manner.

"J-just in case a-anything goes wrong... I-I want you to k-know that I love y-you..." he said, his voice wavering due to his weakness.

"I love you too, Lou... but you're gonna be okay." Clem said. Ruby and Violet entered, Ruby carrying medical supplies.

"Okay, I'm gonna need ya'll to lift him up onto the bed. It's gonna hurt Louis, but it needs to be done." Ruby said, placing her supplies on the table.

Violet and Clem nodded, carefully helping him stand. Louis groaned in pain, but he got on the bed eventually. His eyes grew heavy, and slowly began to shut.

"Ruby, is he okay?" Clem asked. Her voice was blurry in his ears.

"Probably just passing out from the blood loss, I need ya'll to give me some space to work." Ruby said.

"Wait... let me talk to him first." Clem said.

She walked over to Louis, who was barely conscious.

She grabbed his hand. "You're gonna make it. You're strong, and I'll be right here when you wake up. I love you." She said, and planted a gentle kiss on his forehead before letting go of his hand and leaving with Violet.

Louis opened his eyes slowly, barely remembering what had happened. It was daylight, and the sun that shone in through the windows were bright in his eyes. He looked down. He was shirtless, and his torso was bandaged up. He looked on the table beside him, seeing his shirt and coat neatly folded. He looked at his wrist, it had been tied to the bed with tape.

He heard footsteps coming down the hall, and when the door opened, he saw Clementine. She looked up, her eyes widening when she saw he was awake.

"Louis! You're awake!" she said, rushing into the room.

She was mindful of his injury as she pulled him into a hug, peppering his face in kisses.

"Hey, hey... I missed you too." Louis said, his voice raspy due to not talking for a while.

She leaned over, taking the tape off his wrist.

She then looked him in the eyes, before leaning in and kissing him, her hands on his neck.

"I honestly thought that when I'd come in here, you'd still be out... or worse." Clem said after pulling away.

"I'm still here, and I'm not going anywhere, okay? I love you, and I will never stop loving you." he said, pecking her on the lips one more time.

She smiled. "I love you back."
