Patched Up

Scenario: After Clem is injured after a supply run, Louis takes it upon himself  to nurse her back to health.

"We ready to go?" Clem asked, checking over knife for any dull parts of the blade.

"Yeah we are, Clemster," Louis said with that smirk Clem had grown to love.

"Let's go, Belouga." she said, as Louis sighed.

"Please. For the safety of everyone. Leave the nicknames and puns to me." he said, as Clem smiled and shook her head.

"Remember Clem, always aim for the head." AJ said, tugging at her sleeve. Clem ruffled his hair.

"Yeah, thanks kiddo." Clem said. Louis and Clem left out the gates, and started their usual playful chatter.

"No, I was definitely right that night we were drunk, your hair would look good as a pineapple." Clem said with a laugh. Louis had Chairles slung over his shoulder.

"Well maybe we'll have to test that one day," Louis said with a smile.

Clem laughed, "maybe we will".

They got to their traps, snapping the rabbits neck and Clem hitched it to her belt.

"Another one, we'll be eating good tonight," Clem said happily, thinking of how AJ has been hungry the past few days, even with half of Clem and Louis' servings along with his own. Louis had been insisting Clem eat his too, but Clem always refused, saying that he had to eat too. After a few tries he gave in and ate his food.

They got a few more rabbits, the most they'd had in days, and even managed to snag a squirrel. They started walking back before they heard leafs crunching in the background. Clem quickly gestured to a tree and Louis followed. They crouched behind the tree, waiting for the voices to get louder.

"-and we take who we need to, kill the rest. We want the ones who fight most, subdue and apprehend them." said a group of guys, all with guns and knives. Clem turned to face Louis, and must have stood on a twig because a snap went off, and the guys looked over to the trees.

"Go check that out, don't want any people we lose for our... cause." the guy at the front said. The other 3 guys started moving towards the trees.

"Quick, give me Chairles Louis." Clem said in a hushed whisper. Louis obliged, quickly handing the weapon over to her. She held it in a batter stance, and as soon as the guys got close, she took one of the guys' legs out, and Louis acted quickly, taking the knife from Clem's belt and stabbing the guy in the head with it.

"Nice work, Prince Charming." Clem said, standing up.

"I do try my best." Louis said, standing with her.

"Now for the rest of these assholes." Clem said, "you up for it?"

"Always, Clemster." Louis said, and with that, they worked together to take out two of the men.

"Just these two now." Clem said.

"I'll get him, you get the other guy. And remember and take the knee out first like I showed you." Clem said. Louis nodded, and went after his guy. With one swift motion the guy was down and had a blade in his skull. He took the knife out, and heard a scream behind him, he whipped his head around seeing a knife in Clem's arm. He ran over, getting the guy in the head as Clem staggered back. He looked up at his girlfriend.

"Shit, are you okay?!" he asked in a panicked daze.

"I-I'm fine, Louis. Uh, shit... there's some bandages in my pack." Clem said.

"We need more than bandages for this, Clem!" Louis exclaimed.

"It's all we got, move!" Clem ordered. Louis looked in her pack, finding the small roll of bandages.

"It's gonna have to be enough until Ruby can look at it. I'm gonna pull the knife out now." Clem said, a hand on the hilt of her knife. She closed her eyes, quickly pulling the weapon form her arm. She winced, but that was about it. Louis was amazed at how well she could handle pain.

"Now wrap the bandages around the wound.." Clem said.

Louis unravelled the bandages, carefully wrapping them around her arm. He finished, and picked his knife up that he dropped after he killed the guy.

"Thanks for having my back, Lou." Clem said. Louis put his arm around her, careful no to hit her wound.

"Wouldn't have it any other way, Clemster,"
