00 - CHRISTOPHER

"I don't know what to do, Zabdiel." The twenty-three-year-old grumbled into his hands as he vented to his best friend.

"I really don't know why you're making this into such a big deal, Christopher," Zabdiel spoke with indignation lacing his usual soothing voice. "If you love Nina, as you say you do, then this shouldn't even be a problem."

Christopher could tell this was bothering Zabdiel since the guy practically adored his girlfriend but he didn't know who else to talk to. Zabdiel was always good for advice and very neutral when it came to putting in his opinion but this time he was picking a definite side.

"I do... I -" Chris stumbled on his words before whispering; "love her."

This visibly broke Zabdiel's heart because he thought about Nina and how she gave her all when it came to Christopher. She deserved to be fully loved and for that love not to be doubted not even a second.

Zabdiel's scoff made Chris wince, especially when he stood up with a fed-up expression. "It sure doesn't look like it."

The Ecuadorian man felt perplexed in every aspect one could imagine. He loved Nina, it's the reason why he asked her to marry him. Literally three months ago he was convinced she was the only one he wanted but everything changed when she came in the picture.

Donna Hill was the woman that corrupted his thoughts, she was the one making him insecure because she wanted it too. She threw herself at him whenever he was left alone or even when Nina would look away. She was Nina's new co-worker, Nina's new friend who couldn't get enough of Christopher's flustered reactions.

"Chris?" A soft voice approached from the door, his voice easily identifiable.

"What is it, Joel?" Chris replied numbly, his arms covering his face.

"What happened with Zabdi? He didn't seem too happy when he left."

"He left?" Chris whined at how he was messing things up. "I asked a stupid question. That's it."

"Oh," Joel awkwardly responded. "De hecho, he was my ride here..."

"No tengo cabeza para nada, hermano. Can you ask Nina?"

Perceiving his friend's bad state of mind, Joel accepted the literal plea. "Yeah, of course, man. I'll um, I'll see you soon and I hope that whatever happened gets fixed."

Christopher couldn't find it in him to even look up to his friend and smile. The sound of the door shutting erupted a groan from Christopher's chapped lips. He loved Nina but his body wanted, yearned for Donna's touch. She was so sensual and ruthless, this being the sole reason as to why Christopher felt so attracted to her. Of course, she was a looker but her conviction and loud mouth drew him in.

He had to love Nina. She was the girl who made him feel things, the girl who made him believe in love. But Donna was the girl who was making him feel like himself with her reckless behavior and strange adventures. He saw new things with Donna, more than what he had seen with Nina. Donna made him feel free and like the young person he was. Donna made him feel good.

Did he actually love Nina?

The faint ding of his phone broke his thoughts as he reached for it. To his luck, it didn't help one bit.

Donna

I'm tired of feeling this way. I know you feel it too and I just want it over with. I can't get you out of my mind, Christopher.

Swing by my place tomorrow morning? I don't have a shift but Nina does.

She won't know a thing.
