14 - CHRISTOPHER

WEDDING DAY
June 12, 2019

"Velez! So you're actually taking away my sister, huh?" A sudden deep voice muttered playfully. "Still can't believe she picked you."

Christopher smirked before facing the familiar face. "I have my ways. You should've perfectly known."

Esteban, Nina's older brother, chuckled and shook his head. "Congrats man. How you feeling?

"Nervous, bro. Time really went by so fast. I feel like it was only yesterday that I proposed and now we're here."

Esteban nodded and snickered. "It's wild, loco. Sometimes I feel like we wake up in different dimensions every day."

Christopher's small little hairs on his arm stood up at this and it left him paralyzed for a second. "Wha-"

"We don't feel the days, dude! It's like we're being fast forwarded or something. Kinda weird."

"Oh," Chris chuckled tensely. "Yeah, you're right. Anyway, how was the flight?"

"It's was great. My mom almost went crazy since it was her first time stepping foot on a plane and dad slept through the whole thing."

As Christopher made conversation with his soon to be brother-in-law, the church filled up with more people. It wasn't much since only a limited part of their families could come but their friends made up for it. They invited some of the boys families as well since they were pretty close. Nina didn't want anything too big or with strangers and Christopher coincided with her.

"Where's your best man?" Esteban asked looking at the main entrance.

Christopher anxiously shrugged as he too glued his eyes at the entrance. "He should be here by now."

"Hey, don't worry man! Everything's gonna go well."

"I know," Chris lightly gulped with a jittery smile. "I just want everything to be perfect."

"And it will," Esteban assured with a rough pat on the shoulder. "I'm gonna go sit down. I haven't said hi to your family. I'm sure your man will be here soon."

As if on cue, the blond and the other three morons appeared. The four walked to the alter with almost forced smiles. Chris was far too nervous to realize this so instead he chose to believe it was just him seeing things.

"Zab! Ya me estaba preocupando man!"

Zabdiel softly smiled at him before bringing him him for a hug. "Hoy es el día, hermano."

"Yo Chris," Richard whispered. "Is that your cousin?"

The five heads whipped to the dark-haired girl who was sitting next to who seemed to be her mom. Her hair was loosely curled but her bold make-contrasted her innocent eyes.

"No," Joel mumbled before swatting Richard on the chest. "That's my cousin."

While Richard hugged Joel and teasingly whispered stuff into his ear, Christopher turned to Zabdiel with an anxious smile. Zabdiel had always been there for him and Chris had learn that something about Zabdiel always calmed him down. They've known each other for so long that it was only logical for him to be the best man.
