Chapter 10

You know the feeling of embarrassment you get when your stomach suddenly grumbles loudly in the bus?

God, I wish the ground would just open and swallow me up already. People were giving me amused looks as I looked down and pretended it didn't happened.

Well let's just face the fact that my stomach did grumble loudly and people had heard it.

Why hadn't I at least bought an apple from the cafeteria?

I was currently on the way back to my apartment to get ready before the fight. Since I had ever so smartly skipped lunch, I was so hungry I could eat 10 meals combined. As shown, my stomach had decided to complain at the worst time possible, resulting in me having to live with all the embarrassment for years to come.

I was especially thankful for the invention of headphones and earpieces, because it would be double the embarrassing if the cute guy in front of me had heard my stomach grumble. But then again, I wouldn't have cared what he thought of me.

When the bus finally stopped at my destination, I was out of the bus before you could say meow.

What can I say, I love cats.

I sighed in relief as I reached my apartment room. I decided to take a shower and get into my fighting outfit— a black tank top, dark skinny jeans, and my favourite pair of high-heeled boots.

After doing so and tying my hair into a french braid, I grabbed my purse filled with my keys, handphone and some money, and exited my apartment.

I stopped by the warehouse to tell Mike the news.

He grinned widely, ''Oh god, I have to see this! Hey you!'' He pointed towards a random guy who came here regularly. He looked towards Mike and gave a confused look. ''You're in charge till I get back, I have some important business to attend.''

And with that, he dragged me out and towards his car. Have I told you his car was a beautiful Aston Martin?

Yeah, now you know.

As much as I wanted to drive it, I didn't had a driving licence. So I slid into the passenger's seat reluctantly as he started the engine. Then, we were off.

As we were passing rows of shops, Mike turned his head slightly towards me, indicating he wanted to talk. As he stopped at a red light, he looked towards me fully and asked, ''So, care to tell me what's with the new look?''

I mentally slapped my forehead. I had promised to tell Mike about it when I get back from school. I opened my mouth to speak when he suddenly pointed towards a repair shop. I rolled my eyes. Can he get any more distracted?

''Hey! That's Matt, isn't it? Let's go say hi!'' he stated cheerfully.

My eyes snapped towards the shop and I mentally kicked myself for acting so excited. Matt was standing there talking to an older man, raking his hands through his hair and making it more messier. He looked restless as the man tried to explain something to him. His car was in the garage where I bet it was being fixed.

No wonder he took the bus...

Mike made a U-turn and headed for the shop, parking next to it. Having one of the most fanciest and expensive cars, the pair snapped their heads towards the car and stared at it in awe.

I thought I saw drool at the corner of the older man's mouth.

Matt was gazing at the car in pure jealousy till his eyes landed on me. His eyebrows rose at the sight of me. For some reason my heartbeat picked up its rate.
