Chapter 23

Recap:

Danielle's POV

The sound of the door creaking broke me out of my reverie, and I instantly froze.

~*~

''Where's the surprise, maaan,'' the rough voice of a man slurred as I heard the door slam open. I couldn't see as my back was to it.

I didn't even dare try to look behind me.

''Just here,'' the familiar voice replied, and I instantly knew who it was.

The sound of footsteps became closer, and I had a flashback of when I was being handled inappropriately.

I shuddered at the memory.

Does this mean it's going to start all over again, me being violated by a group of older men? I felt tears pricking my eyes. I sure as hell did not want a repeat of that.

I kept the tears back, though. I refused to show them that I was weak.

I raked through my brain for a way out of this. If only the strings were untied, I could definitely take them down, especially since they are most probably drunk...

A shadowed loomed over me, and my eyes snapped up to face the culprit. My eyes turned hard as I glared menacingly at the man in front of me.

''You disgusting bas-''

I was cut off when the back of his hand made in contact with my cheek, the force making my head whip to the side. My cheek stung as I winced. I wasn't going to cry, I had experienced worse during my fights at the warehouse.

However, I wasn't going to lie and say it didn't bring back horrible memories.

''Now, listen here, bitch,'' he growled viciously. ''I brought my friend here for a reason, and you are going to cooperate whether you like it or not. And if you don't...''

He leaned closer to me and brought his hand to the waistband of his jeans, producing a switchblade. He flipped it and the blade emerged. I stared at it, gulping inaudibly. He smirked knowing he had gotten to me.

''Now, I'm not gonna just untie you and have a possible chance of you escaping,'' he continued speaking while his friend stood at the side with the wall supporting him. ''And I most certainly would not let you go until you repay for when you got kicked out and left me.''

He brought the blade closer to my throat.

Closer...

Closer...

I was almost scared to even gulp for fear the lump in my throat will make contact with the blade. My breathing became harder, as I kept my eyes on it.

And then it was gone.

The blade was suddenly pulled back swiftly and sliced through the right thigh of my jeans instead, slicing my skin in the process.

I bit my lip hard to keep myself from screaming and closed my eyes in agony. I had definitely not expected that. My eyes watered from the pain, and I could taste the blood in my mouth from biting my lip too hard.

Shawn laughed maliciously, and I had to keep myself from spitting the blood onto his face. He was armed with a blade. I had nothing with me and plus, I was tied securely to a chair.

There was no freaking way I could win.

If only I hadn't been so sensitive of what Morgan had said, I wouldn't have went to the back of the school. If only I hadn't over-think, I wouldn't stay there long and sulk. If only I went back inside right when Amanda left, I wouldn't have smelt the chloroform and pass out.
