Chapter 22
Matt's POV
I stared at the paper in front of me, shocked.
To be more precise, that paper was Danielle's essay. I had purposely chose that topic to see what Danielle's response was. Now that I've gotten it, I was both shocked and elated.
The essay seemed to have been written from her heart. It was truly deep. A paragraph was used to write about family love, another for the love for friends, and the rest of the essay was about the love between couples.
It was like there was a hidden message in there. She had written that you'd know you love someone when you have this fuzzy feeling in you, or when you like them too much to even be considered 'like'.
It was obvious she loves me too, right? how would she know all these? I really did not want to get my hopes up, but still.
I sighed, running a hand across my face. I thought of how I'd tell her that I'm in love with her. Maybe on a romantic date or something...
I smiled at the idea.
My phone beeped next to me on my desk, and I checked it only to see a message from my mom asking how I was doing. I had given her a call yesterday night before going to sleep, and she was all but happy.
Though I was still disappointed at her leaving me when I was young, I could somewhat understand her intentions.
I unlocked my phone and replied the message to my mom. I decided to text Danielle at the same time, so I did just that.
Matt: Hey, how are you doing? Hope you're gonna visit me during Lunch later. Y'know, as usual ;) Have a nice break. (: xx
I awaited for her quick reply, but did not recieved any. I had waited for the past fifteen minutes with me just staring at my phone like an idiot. Luckily this was a free period for me.
Though slightly disappointed and a tad bit worried, I shrugged it off, thinking she must have gotten carried away chatting with her friends.
The bell rang at the moment, and students started to file in.

By the period after Lunch I was getting worried. Danielle had not once showed up during Lunch, nor did she reply my messages.
Was she upset with me or something? Or was she scared and embarrassed knowing I had read her essay?
I smiled inwardly, knowing full well she wouldn't be embarrassed. She was a strong and brave girl, all because of her past. But I must say, when she was with me, she'd get embarrassed easily, and I was glad to have that effect on her.
However, this did not help me in my current situation. What was wrong with Danielle?
I was edgy throughout the entire lesson, checking my phone every now and then to see if she had replied. The students were more than glad to see me like this instead of the angry one.
The students I was currently teaching were sophomores, and one of them was Amanda. She looked particularly happy for some reason, but I didn't know why, nor did I give a damn.
There was a knock on the door before Mike's head popped in. He had on a worried and panicked expression, and I instantly felt the same feeling creep onto me. This was about Danielle, I just knew it.
I stood up from my seat and ordered the students to continue their work, before going out to meet Mike.
''Did Danielle came over your class?'' Mike asked as soon as the door closed behind me.
