Eli went to kiss me again and tried to cup my cheek and I winced. He instantly refrained and apologized. "Damn, it's starting to swell. I'm going to get you some ice." He walks toward the kitchen and I go into my room to get clothes to change into. I feel terrible.
Eli called for me when I wasn't in the living room. "In here!"
"Put this on your cheek. It'll help with the swelling." The look of concern is warming my heart. He's here and taking care of me. I smile. "Thank you."
"Come and lay down. I'll order some carry out and you just rest here." He kisses my forehead and walks out of my room.
10 minutes later he peaks his head in the door "I'm going to pick up the food. I'll be right back." I wished he would just say I love you, but he doesn't. I smile at him and nod my head.
I decide to close my eyes and try to take a nap.
