Chapter 93 - Eli's POV

Why did Kenzie just show up here? She knows it's been over way before Denmark. First the kiss at the gala and now at me and Emma's place? I don't understand.
Kenzie looks at me with persuading eyes "come on, Eli! You had to have felt something behind that kiss."
I groan thinking of the best response. Grateful that Emma isn't here. She doesn't need the stress or pressure right now. I look at Kenzie and calmly tel her "whatever you felt during that kiss is completely one sided. I'm in love with Emma. The mother of my babies. Whatever you feel for me you need to let that go and lock it down. You need to leave."
I can't read her expression.
"She's pregnant..."
"Yeah, she is." I say with a smile. She looks like she is going to cry.
"Do you think we would be together still if I didn't get an abortion?" She's looking for comfort that I'm not going to give.
"No, I don't think so. Emma is my other half. One way or another we would have found each other." She didn't like my answer. "You're a terrible person Eli Brink! I wish I could undo my feelings for you and never have been with you!" And walks away slamming the apartment door behind her.
I let out the breath I didn't realize I was holding and check the time. It's late and I haven't heard from Emma or Gracie. I really need to get Emma a new phone. I call Gracie and she picks up on the 2nd ring.
"Hello?"
"Hey, put Emma on."
"Uhhh... Emma isn't here." My heart starts to pound really hard in my chest.
"Gracie, what do you mean she's not there? She left my office to hangout with you!" I am going to lose my shit if this is a joke. Gracie doesn't say anything. "Is this some sick joke, Gracie? If it is..." she cut me off.
"She's not here, Eli. I haven't heard from her at all. What can I do to help find her?"
My anxiety is through the roof. "I'll let you know once I figure out what to do myself." And hung up.
