Aanya tried to dial Raj's number but couldn't. She would press 'call' and 'end' within microseconds.

Aanya wasn't a person who wanted to have doubts on her mind. She always wanted to get to the bottom of any intriguing situation she was in. She knew Raj wouldn't use his sister to get to her. But until recently she did not think he'd be capable to do a lot of things he did. He had a chance to come clean to her but he never did.

She had to talk about this with someone. She knew her impulsive mind wouldn't let her think straight. If only Varun could answer the bloody phone.

Aanya knew only one person could cheer her up right now. So she got ready and went straight to meet baby Karan.

Varun had been the first one at the breakfast table that day. Everyone who came next was surprised to see his enthusiasm but didn't ask anything.

"So when are we leaving for the office?" He asked.

Simran asked confusingly, "Office? You are supposed to come to the Visa office with Karan and me. We spoke about it yesterday."

It had slipped his mind. He had already told Aanya he was at the office. Now only God could save him in case Aanya showed up.

Once breakfast was over Simran asked Varun to come to her room.

They went there and checked on a sleeping Karan, then sat on the sofa and Simran began, "What is up with you? You seem lost since you've come home yesterday."

Varun might have been the sensitive one, but when it came to feelings, he wouldn't open up much to anyone.

Nevertheless, he told Simran what had happened the previous day.

Simran didn't beat around the bush and went straight to the point, "So you think Raj is innocent?"

Varun smiled.

"Innocent would be an inappropriate term for his doings. Was he innocent when he cut the deal with Vicky, nope! But whether he wanted to cause any harm to Aanya, it didn't look like last night," Varun said sinking into his seat.

"Why wouldn't he defend himself then?" Simran asked.

"I didn't give him much of a choice, did I!?"

"Whatever it is Varun, you cannot ignore Aanya like that. If you are in such a dazed state, what must she be going through? Go talk to her."

"Honestly I'm feeling guilty about how I took matters in my hand and spoilt things. I could have handled it differently like confront Raj personally, know the whole truth. But no, my rage took over me and I did what no one expected!"

"That's coz when it comes to people you care about, you didn't want to take a chance," Simran told him.

"I'm going home with you guys next time, it's too crazy out here," Varun replied in frustration and Simran just nodded her head.

"Please call Marc to get the car ready, we'll be late for the appointment. You call Aanya and tell her to meet us for lunch later," she requested.

He texted Aanya instead of calling, 'Hey, lunch today? Simran and Karan will be there too'

Aanya who was putting on her shoes to leave saw the message and replied almost immediately, 'Sounds great. Text me the place and time.'

"Lunch it is then," Varun announced.

...

At  the hospital, Keya finished her work and texted Krish, 'Free for lunch yet?'

'Will take a while,' he replied.
