Not Just a Dream

Something was wrong. Namjoon's voice sounded so weak, and his hands suddenly released their hold on him, falling to his sides.

"Namjoon-ah?" He asked, pulling away to look at him. Shit. His face was pale. The younger man cracked open his eyes just enough to look at him, but they didn't appear to be focused.

"Namjoon, are you alright?" He felt his fangs retract, meaning his eyes had also returned to normal, as he spoke.

Namjoon didn't respond, his eyes closing once more before he fell completely limp.

"Namjoon! Officer Kim!" He shook him, but he never stirred.

"Shit. Shit." Panicked, he got out of the bathtub and moved Namjoon to the bed. He paced the small space, wondering what the hell he was supposed to do. He wasn't dead--Jin could still hear a heartbeat, but he would definitely be out for several hours. How was he supposed to explain that if anyone showed up, wanting to speak to him?

Actually, what was he supposed to tell Namjoon when he woke up?

He supposed he could tell him that he had gotten knocked out when they fell. Anything else he remembered, Jin could just play off like it was all a dream.

"That might work," he muttered, glancing at the unconscious man he had been dry-humping just ten minutes before. He couldn't believe himself, acting like a lustful teenager. Had he been able to blush, he was sure his entire face would have been scarlet at the memory.

The worst part was the fact that he hadn't wanted to stop. Had Namjoon not passed out, he probably wouldn't have.

"This is not good," he groaned. "As if a hunter after me wasn't enough. Now I have to worry about not attacking Namjoon." He supposed he could ask for another officer to watch him, but he knew that would lead to another fight with Namjoon.

"This hot and cold shit it getting old," he muttered, repeating Namjoon's words from earlier. He was also getting tired of it. In all honesty, he really liked the officer. He was a bit blunt sometimes, but Jin could tell he really cared about keeping him safe. He was also considerate in his own way, like his nagging Jin about not eating enough.

"I think I'm in way over my head," he sighed, sitting on the bed next to Namjoon. He was human. That alone was reason enough not to get too involved with him.

But he had, without even realizing it. He was fairly certain it wasn't just the fact that they were bonded, either.

He pulled Namjoon's phone from his pocket and moved to the tiny armchair before calling Hoseok's phone.

"Hyung! Where are you? Are you alright?"

"Is Officer Park there?"

"Not at the moment. He got called out on his pager. Why?"

"I'm using Namjoon's phone, so I'm not supposed to be calling anyone."

"I heard about the call on your burner phone," Hoseok said.

"I think the hunter is already at our new location," he sighed. "The Chief wants us to stay here while they try to catch him."

"Where are you? I'll come—"

"No. They have patrols all over the place, and Officer Park is supposed to be watching you, isn't he?"

"Yeah."

He frowned at his friend's tone. "Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, it's fine. I just had a bit of an...argument with Jimin, but it's nothing you need to worry about."
