"Get up" he said again, more of a command this time.
"what? what happened?" i barely asked. i said it louder in my head than i did in real life. my shoulder felt crushed, and my head was pounding. and there was blood near where i was just laying, so im gonna go out on a limb here and assume it was mine.
He dragged me in way faster than my aching legs wanted to walk.
I was forced into a small room with a curtain dividing the room in half. blue, old, faded, chairs were on either side of the thick green fabric that acted as a wall. i sat on the chair furthest from the door.
i could here the sound of shoes walking towards the room. whoever was coming in stopped right before the entrance to take a deep breath before entering.
"Don't worry Angel, you're not here for confession," the voice said. It's like i know who it is, but i just can't remember who it is.
"wha- then why am i he- can i go home?" I looked at the clock on tbe beige wall across from us, and it read 12:23. why am i here so late? Why can't they just let me go home?
"you can go home, but not yet. see, we're worried about you, and um carmen. from what Father Haden and I can tell, you and carmen are um, dating and you should know by now that that is not allowed here," the voice spoke like they were trying to warn me.
"im not supposed to be telling you this," the voice got softer and quieter, "but, they're out to get you two. they're gonna have you both taken away to fix your thoughts. they plan on doing that in four days. please angel, you gotta take her and save yourselves from what they plan on doing to you two. trust me, they did it to me and my ex boyfriend when we were your age, and it was horrible. leave."
Maybe 20 seconds later father haden came in, and told me i could leave.
the voice was my teacher. and this is the first time i believed anything he said.
