A/N: I cried writing this chapter
Amber's P.O.V.
The days flew faster and faster. The boys had officially dropped out of school, Luke would be something like homeschooled because his mum wouldn’t accept anything else. I went to school, the boys picked me up and we spent the days together, trying to make the most out of the time we had left before they would be leaving me for two and a half months. But time flew by and then it was the day they were leaving.
My alarm clock rang at 3.30 am and I yawned loudly, rubbed my eyes and sat up in bed. I quickly got dressed into my superman shirt, only for Louis, and tight jeans, then walked into the bathroom and tied my hair up in a bun, put on makeup and quietly left the house. I rang Calum’s doorbell and Mali opened the door. “Hey” she said, hugging me, then led me inside the house. 4 suitcases were standing in the hallway, 4 tired boys were sitting in the kitchen. “Hey” I mumbled. They all got up and hugged me. “Hey, can you promise me not to cry?” Ashton said, his eyes already wet, “Harry cried enough for a whole day” “I’ll try” I mumbled. We all got into the car, Mali got in the driver’s seat and Calum’s mum put their suitcases into the trunk. “Bye Calum” she said and hugged him tightly. “Bye mum”
The ride to the airport was pretty quiet. We got out of the car. “How many time do you have left until your plane takes off?” “About two hours” Ashton answered.
“Hey!” Louis exclaimed once he saw us. He ran towards me and high fived me, then unzipped his jacket to reveal his own Superman shirt. “Yay” I cheered and hugged him. The boys all said hi and we got into the airport’s Maccas to eat something.
45 minutes
The boys were talking and I was just watching them talk, watching them laugh. It may sound creepy, but I wanted to remember them laughing. A girl walked up to us and asked shyly whether she could take a photo with the 1D boys. Luke took the photo and she also took a photo with ‘that band from Australia’
30 minutes
“Let’s take pictures!” Louis exclaimed, pulling out his phone. We all got close to each other and started taking weird selfies. Louis took a picture of Calum giving me a piggy back ride, I took a picture of Louis and Harry carrying Luke around, a lady took a picture of all of them carrying me. Niall picked me up and started carrying me around while Calum was filming
15 minutes
I felt my eyes start to water as I looked down on my wristwatch. “Hey, we have something for you!” Harry said and pulled a shirt and a sweater out of his backpack. “No you didn’t” I laughed, looking at my new One Direction merch. “I’ll wear that the whole time!” “I know” Louis laughed “send us pictures” Niall took my phone and they all saved their numbers in it. “Wait, you’re not the only one to give her a present!” Michael whined. He pulled out a grey shirt and handed it to me. “You have merchandise?!” “You are now the owner of one of the first five 5SOS shirts ever!” Ashton exclaimed happily. I smiled at them and felt my eyes start to water even more. “I’m afraid I’ll break my promise” I told Ashton.
10 minutes
“Flight 107, you can now start boarding” My heart dropped as the boys got up and we slowly walked towards the gate. I felt the blood rush out of my face and I must’ve looked like a ghost. My hands were shaking. “I’ll miss you all” I said quietly. “Will you miss me, too?” Louis asked “Of course Lou. How could I forget my Superman?” I laughed and hugged him. “Bye superwoman. We’ll save the world someday” he laughed “Bye, I’ll miss you” “Bye fan number one” Zayn said and hugged me tight, not without whispering a “Vas happening boys?” into my ear. I giggled and hugged him back just as tight. “I’ll miss you, that’s vas happening” I said. “I’ll miss you too”
5 minutes
Harry walked up to me and hugged me. “Bye female version of Niall” “Bye male version of Taylor swift” “Shut up” he chuckled. “I’ll miss you, send us pics!” “Will do” Liam hugged me and said “I’M BATMAN. And I don’t like your shirt” I laughed and hugged him back. “See you in a few months” “Bye” Then, I felt a tear slowly rolling down my cheek as Niall approached me “No no no no don’t cry princess” he said and hugged me tightly “I’ll miss you leprechaun” I said, my voice cracking. “I’ll miss you too” he said. “Bye” I whispered. Then, Luke nearly tackled me. “We’ll stay in contact the whole time, yes?” he said, his eyes watering. “Yes” I sniffled into his chest. “I’ll miss you” “I’ll miss you too penguin” I whispered.
3 minutes
“Flight 107, please board now” Ashton hugged me “I’m sorry I couldn’t keep the promise Ash” I sniffled into his chest as he hugged me. He sniffled and chuckled quietly. “Lub chuuu” he said quietly. “chuu too” I giggled. “I am going to miss you, nugget” “I’ll miss you too”

Michael hugged me tight. “I’ll tell you everytime I’ll dye my hair, okay?” “Yeah, please” “I’ll miss you Ams” “I’ll miss you too Mikey”
“Flight 107, please board now”
1 minute
I am not ready to let him go. Calum wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tightly. “I’ll call you every day” “I hope so” I sniffled.
30 seconds
I can’t do this. I can’t let him go. “I’ll miss you so much” “I’ll miss you heaps too”
15 seconds
“Flight 107, this is your last chance. Please board now” “Come on Calum” Luke said, his voice weak. “Don’t do something to yourself while I’m gone” Calum whispered. I nodded. He placed his chin on top of my head. I can’t do this. I let out a choked so and felt tears rolling down my cheeks.
10 seconds
“Don’t let anything Joshua does get to you” “I won’t” I probably will. “Fuck, I’ll miss you so much” I felt a tear on my head and looked up at him. “Are you crying?” he shook his head, but then nodded as another tear rolled down his face.
5 seconds
“Calum, we have to go” “Okay” he said quietly. He hugged me even tighter. “I’ll call you and we’ll text, okay?” “Of course Calum” I cried, now sobbing. “Please stop crying, I wanna remember you smiling” I forced a smile
4 seconds
“Calum, come on” “I told Mali to pick you up after school every day so you don’t have to walk home alone” “Thanks” I mumbled into his chest.
3 seconds
“Last call for Flight 07, please board now!”
2 seconds
“You’ll miss your plane, go and have the time of your life” “I’ll try” he said, his eyes watering, but he wasn’t giving in and forced a smile. “I’ll miss you” he said for the thousandth time “I’ll miss you too” I can’t do this. My forced smiled broke down and I started crying. “Hey, look at me” I looked up at Calum, he was smiling down at me. “Calum, we really have to go now” Michael said quietly. “Just go, I’ll be there in a second” the other boys picked up their suitcases and began walking towards the gate. Calum’s face was inches from mine. He cupped my cheeks with his hands. “Please, stop crying” “I can’t” I choked out and felt Calum’s thumbs wipe the tears under my eyes away. My eyes were squeezed shut.

I felt Calum’s breath on my face and opened my eyes. His face was only about half an inch from mine. “Calum, you have to go” I sobbed. “I know” he mumbled. He walked towards his suitcase and grabbed it, then began walking. I started sobbing even louder. The other boys turned around and Calum did, too. Luke ran towards Calum and took his suitcase. Calum was walking towards me again. “Calum, what are you doing?!” Ashton shouted. “Calum, you have to go” I sobbed. He wrapped his arms around me in the tightest hug I had ever experienced. I squeezed my eyes shut and felt him let go of me. He’s leaving. I opened my eyes, and instead of Calum’s back, I saw his face closer than ever to mine. And instead of leaving, he closed the space between us and placed his lips on mine. My heart stopped, then beat so heavily I was worried Calum might feel it. I wrapped my arms around his neck, still crying. Calum pulled away from the kiss. “I love you”
