missed lunches

Each passing day has become strange for me. It was strange not being with Ainsley during lunchtime. It was strange not going outside of the office to get a burrito and eat it on the way back while goofing around.

Apparently, everyone has also taken notice of Ainsley's absence. I don't know if I'll ever get to used to it.

"Hey, good morning."

"Hello."

"How are you two?"

"Uh...fine, I guess."

"Have you heard of who's gonna leave the company?"

"Yeah."

"Tell me."

"Ainsley."

Then the news spread like wildfire. I could barely get used to it.

This was the first time I had lunch inside the cafeteria. I usually go out with Ainsley to eat, but now I'm just eating with my team.

"Hey, Anderson," Diana walks by me and gives me lemon tea in a can. "How's life with Ainsley?"

"To be honest with you, I was shocked at the news. I don't know how to process myself being alone now. I know that Ainsley will do good but I'm fearing that she might go on without me and forget everything."

"You'll be fine, Anderson. But I'm worried about her. She has always hated being the focus. That's why she's so embarrassed when you two were doing interviews here and there. She doesn't like being in the spotlight."
