Tracey's Point of View

I locked the front door.

House was quiet.

No one home again.

I walked to the kitchen.

Roses?

There was a trail of roses leading towards the backyard door

I followed it and opened the backyard door.

The backyard fence had fairy lights up.

Awe, I love fairy lights..

Then I heard a slow guitar melody start playing.

"I can hear your heart
On the radio beat
They're playing 'Chasing Cars'
And I thought of us
Back to the time,
You were lying next to me
I looked across and fell in love.."

I peeked through to see who it was and it was Zach. He was sitting in a chair with his guitar singing.

He didn't notice me.

But I knew the song he was singing.

All of the Stars by Ed Sheeran

"And so I took your hand" We both sang.

He turned around, shocked to see me but he didn't stop playing and we didn't stop singing, we sang Together.

"Back through lamp lit streets I knew

Zach got up from his chair, slowly walking towards me.

Once again we were inches apart, staring into each others eyes.

"Hi" I grinned.

"Hey" He responded.

"I hope you're not mad.." I looked down.

He made me face up towards him again, "I was just frustrated. I thought Daniel liked me again and tried to steal you back. I was overthinking things. Then I got over it and realized how much of a jerk I was. Then I came here to apologize and you weren't home so I thought you were avoiding me. So then I wanted to be a gentleman and ask for your forgiveness nicely."

I stood there speechless.

He put his arm around me playfully, "Well it doesn't seem like you're mad so I have a question."

"Is it dumb?"

He laughed, "No just trust me on this."

I stayed quiet to let him speak, "You know the Junior and Senior Prom right? So I was um wondering if-"

I cut him off for one reason.

You can do this.

He deserves this.

I leaned in fast and I kissed him.

Hah, shocked Herron??

Didn't see that coming huh?

Who's the smooth one now tehe

The kiss wasn't short but wasn't long and he kissed back.

We both leaned back and I smiled, "Does that answer your question?"

He blushed, "I'm not sure, I think I might need another."

He made a kissy face and tried leaning in but I pushed him off.

1am

I usually wouldn't be awake but when you have a best friend who literally never sleeps, you don't get sleep either.

She called me at 1am because Jack told her that Zach and I had our first kiss.

And so Zach told the whole band, fun.

"And so that's how it went."

"EEEEEEEEEEE" Ross screamed in the phone.

"Are you trying to make me deaf and not go to prom ?!"

"Sorry !! I'm just super excited. MY BESTIE AND I ARE GOING TO PROM WITH SUPER CUTE DATES!!!" She yelled again.

I laughed, "Ugh whatever. We'll talk details tomorrow, night."

I closed my eyes starting to fall asleep with a smile.

My smile fades away

Because I had just realized

Prom is literally in less than 24 hours and

I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO WEAR

AND I'M JUST BASICALLY NOT PREPARED AT ALL

I quickly sit up in my bed and the lights flicker on.

"Shit!!" I yelled.

I quickly put on a hoodie and sweats.

I ran downstairs to the car.

Christina stopped me at the door, "I'm so coming with you."

"What the--"

"What? I heard you yelling to yourself and I'm caught up already. Hurry your shit and let's go" She said.

Christina drove to Rose's house speeding.

No police and other cars around so

I ran up to Rose's room, opened her closet, and starting tossing a bummy outfit out.

"Awe Jack's hoodie" I said to myself.

Rose stared at me being in a rush.

"What the fuck-" She said.

She shrugged, "And I thought I was the weird one in this friendship."

I didn't even listen to her.

"Might as well follow along" She said getting up.

I got real big plans baby for this awful ass book :)
