The Opening Act

Part. 15 We Need To Talk -Luke's POV-

I was up all night thinking about what I was going to say to Jessica if she would ever let me explain what happened yesterday.

I checked my phone to check the time. It was 6:35am.

I jumped out of bed to see Jessica sitting on the couch looking out the window.

"Hey." I said rubbing the back of my neck.

She said nothing. She just smiled and walked to the kitchen.

"I'm making tea. Do you want some?" She asked softly.

"No thanks. I'm good." I said.

She sounded like she hasn't slept.

After she made her tea she walked off into the back room.

I went in after her.

"Look Jess. We need to talk." I said.

"I have nothing to say to you Luke." She said avoiding eye contact.

"Yeah well I do!" I said said sitting next to her.

She didn't say anything. She just sat there without even glancing the me.

"Look. Yesterday Lexi called me, and said that she needed to talk to me. I told her I didn't want to see her. But then she apologized." I said.

"And you believed her?" She asked.

"Yes I did. She apologized. She said that she didn't mean to hurt you." I said looking in her eyes.

"If she really didn't mean to hurt me she would have apologized a long time ago." she said.

"She would have, if you didn't run off." I said.

"I'm sorry. I just I thought she tried to hook up with you." She said tears falling from her eyes.

"Jess. I would never do that to you. I love you." I said touching her cheek.

"I love you too Luke." She said.

I leaned closer to her and kissed her lips softly. She kissed back passionately and wrapped her hands around the back of my neck. I kissed her harder and she started playing with my hair. Shebleaned her head back slightly, and I left a trail of kisses down her neck.

-Jessica's POV-

"I need to find a dress for dads funeral tomorrow. Do you think we could go out and look for one?" I asked breaking the make out session Luke and I were having.

"Yeah I'll go with you." he said pulling me onto his lap.

We sat there cuddled up in the back room watching TV.

" Ooh the original Halloween movie on!" I sqeaked.

I put it on and cuddled with Luke on the couch.

I jumped at the sussed vibration of my phone. It was my Grandma Judy.

Grandma J Calling...

"hey grams!"

"hello jelly bean! How are you holding up?"

"oh I'm alright. It's been a tough week. I miss you!"

"I miss you too baby. So you and Hannah will be staying with us for a while."

"I know. But it will just be Hannah for a few weeks. I'm still doing the 5SOS tour."

" oh that's right. I guess we will see you tomorrow at Toms funeral. I love you sweetie! Bye bye."

"bye grams! Love you too!"

"Hahahahahahaha! Oh my god, Luke Remember that time I was at your house and Lily called, so I went outside to talk to her and I didn't see the closed screen door,  and I walked through it and it broke?!" I asked laughing at story Ashton told us.

"Oh yeah, and I freaked out cause I thkugbt you had fallen down the stairs! Hahaha good times!" he laughed.

I git up off if Luke's lap and skipped into the bathroom.

I was washing my hair and I started thinking of what kind of dress I should bye when Luke and I go out later.

I got out and put my wet blue hair into a messy fish-tail braid. I grabbed my high-waisted black shorts and my pale pink button up blouse, and tucked it into my shorts, and put on my black vans.

For my makeup I put on black mascara and eyeliner.

I walked out and screamed when Luke grabbed me from behind and carried me to the door.

"Aah Luke put me down!!!" I screamed.

"Never!!" he said and started spinning.

"Luke I swear to god if you don't put me down I'm going..." I said but he cut me off.

"It you'll what.?" He chuckled.

"... Or I'll cut off all your hair in your sleep!" I threatened.

"oh OK! No. Not my hair!" He said and put me down.

I laughed and kissed his soft lips.

He laughed and grabbed my hand and our fingers entwined.

Luke and I walked hand in hand into the oversized mall.

"Where do you want to look first?" Luke asked.

"Uh... Forever 21!" I said.

So the 2 of us walked to Forever 21. I found this one black dress, it was two layered. The top layer of the dress was all lace. It was perfect. I ran towards the rack, with Luke following close behinde.

I grabbed the dress and Luke's hand, and ran towards the dressing rooms.

I tried on the dress and it fit my body perfectly! I was in love with the dress!

I walked out of the room and twirled around in a circle.

"Wow! You look beautiful!" Luke said practically drooling.

"I know! I love it!" I squealed

I was all happy until I saw the price. $250

"What's wrong?" Luke asked.

"I don't have enough..." I said looking into my wallet.

"How much?" He asked.

"$250. I only have $230. You got $20 I can borrow?" I asked with my puppy dog eyes.

"Here." He said handing me $20.

"Yay!!" I said and went back into the change room and put on my clothes.

We went to the teller and payed for the dress.

After that we left and just walked around for a few hours.

Eventually we found a small park. There was a swing set and I let go of hand.

"I'll race ya to the swings!" I said and started running.

"Your on!" He said and ran after me.

This was just like old times. Us racing to the swings. It was fun. I ran and Luke did what he always did. He came up behind me and grabbed me and threw everything me over his shoulder.

I screamed and laughed. He spun around and put me down. After he put me down he towered over me. After standing there for a few seconds Luke crashed his lips into mine.

After a few seconds of making out, a grabbed his hand and we walked to the swings.

This was our first official date without the rest of the band. And it was perfect. Nothing could possibly ruin it!
