The dinner with Kevin's family went as smoothly as possible. They obviously loved Sophie and were reassured by her and Kevin that her job would not be affected by their relationship at all.
Sophie spent most of the night in the kitchen with Kevin's mom and sister, the three of them talking about whatever came to their minds, and surprisingly never had a moment of silence.
Overall, the dinner went really well and Sophie found herself very comfortable around Kevin's family.
—
Sophie's phone rang loudly in her ear, and she rolled over, squinting her eyes open to look at her phone on her bedside table. The Moon Boy was FaceTiming her. She groaned and answered the call, facing it up towards the ceiling so he couldn't see her puffy morning face.
"Hm?" she hummed.
"Why can't I see you?" Kevin asked. "Did I wake you up?"
"Mhm."
"Oh, my bad, sorry. I'll call you back later."
"No, what's up," Sophie objected in a groggy tone.
Kevin smirked. "That morning voice of yours is adorable."
"Shut up and tell me why you called at 7:30 in the morning on a Sunday."
Kevin laughed and nodded. "Okay, fine. I just wanted to know if you wanted to get dinner with me tonight and then drop the guys off at the airport since they're leaving for Korea."
Sophie sat up in bed and directed the phone at her face. "The boys are leaving today?" she asked, her voice squeaking unexpectedly. Kevin nodded.
"They were here for like two weeks and they have to go back for sports. They'll be back in a few weeks. They visit here a lot often than you would expect, trust me."
Sophie sighed in relief and laid back down. "Yeah, I'd love that," she finally responded to the question. Kevin beamed, making Sophie smile at how cute he was. For only being 7:30 in the morning, Kevin looked amazing. It was like he rolled out of bed looking flawless.
"Awesome. Go back to sleep, beautiful. I'll pick you up at 7."
Kevin moved his thumb to hang up the phone, only to be stopped by Sophie telling him to wait. He put his thumb back on the side of the screen and raised his eyebrows, waiting for her to tell him what she had on her mind.
"Come at 6," she told him. Kevin smirked and nodded.
"Got it. Get some rest."
He hung up the phone and Sophie smiled, placing her phone back on her nightstand and rolling over to go back to sleep.
—
Sophie woke up hours later and immediately got herself ready for her date with Kevin. She showered, dried her hair, curled it, and then stood naked in front of her closet, trying to find an outfit.
Someone knocked on her door as she stared at her clothes, startling her. "Yo, Soph, I'm going to the store 'cause mom needs eggs you want anything?" Chris' voice sounded through the door.
"Don't come in!" Sophie yelled back.
"I'm not. Do you want anything?"
"Um...no, I'm good. But Chris, I don't know what to wear on my date with Kevin."
Her voice sounded whinier than she had expected, something that Chris caught through the door.
"Just relax," he said. "You're already dating, just wear something cute that you're comfortable in. I'm leaving now."
Sophie blew out a breath and nodded. "Something cute that I'm comfortable in," she repeated. She reached in her closet and pulled out a pink romper that she had been trying to find an occasion to wear to.
It was pink with flowers on it, off the shoulder and just short enough to bring attention to her butt, but not show off anymore than necessary.
She nodded with a smile and took some time to get her outfit together, adding some pink heels that she also owned and loved. She walked over to the mirror and smiled with a nod. She actually loved her outfit.
Realizing she had a few hours to spare, Sophie laid down on her bed to watch TikTok, something that she knew would waste time.
Before she knew it, a notification appeared on the top of her screen, making her click off of the video she was watching.
The Moon Boy
Leaving my house now;)Sophie smiled and immediately stood up to check her hair in the mirror, and make sure she hadn't ruined it by laying on her bed for three hours.
She hadn't.
The drive from Kevin's house to Sophie's seemed to take forever, but he did arrive eventually, making Sophie's stomach drop with nerves. She swallowed and let out a breath before walking out of her house.
Kevin was standing outside, clearly trying to find a way to lean against the car that made him look cool. Sophie chuckled at the sight of him and pretended like she hadn't watched the whole thing as he found a position he liked.
"Hey," she said.
Kevin didn't reply, just stood there with his mouth open, looking Sophie up and down over and over again. She giggled and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. She approached him and stopped once she stood in front of him, looking up while she waited for a response.
"You get more beautiful every time I see you. It blows my mind. I never thought I could be so whipped for anyone in my life."
Sophie couldn't help the blush that crawled onto her face, making Kevin smile. He reached over and took her hand, looking into her eyes. Sophie suddenly got extremely nervous and insecure, but she didn't want to look away and be one of those girls.
"You ready?" he asked her. She nodded with a breath of relief as he broke the eye contact. He opened her door for her with a smile. "Well then, your date awaits."
He waited until she got in and then shut the door gently before booking it to the other side of the car. He got in, out of breath, and looked at her. Sophie's eyes widened in confusion.
"Sorry, was my chauffeur too talkative? I feel like I've been waiting in this car for forever," Kevin spoke while rolling his eyes. Sophie laughed and rolled her eyes as well.
"Do you always have to put on a show?" she asked.
"Always."
