"You didn't know I can sing?" Kevin asked, laughing lightly. Sophie shook her head aggressively.

"No! Sing me something pretty!"

Kevin laughed and took a second to think, nodding. He gasped when he thought of a song, opening his mouth to start singing.

"NOT—," Sophie cut him off before he could start, "Beyonce."

Kevin shut his mouth and groaned while rolling his eyes. "Fine."

He cleared his throat and sang a slight bit of his favorite Lukas Graham song, trying not to laugh as Sophie stared at him with stars in her eyes.

His voice trailed off after a few lines and he chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "It's better with Jacob 'cause it's like a duet that we do together."

Sophie didn't say anything for a few seconds, just stared at Kevin with an unreadable expression. Kevin waved his hand in front of her face and called out her name after a few seconds when she was starting to worry him.

She smirked, reaching forward to wrap her arms around his neck and press her lips to his. He fell backwards onto the bed, Sophie landing on top of him. He let his initial shock fade away and eased into the kiss, bringing his hands up to Sophie's hair.

She pulled away after a few seconds, pulling some of her hair out of her face. She pulled Kevin up and let out a sigh.

"Whew, sorry about that. You're just ridiculously attractive."

Kevin laughed and leaned forward, pecking her lips. "That makes two of us."

Sophie smiled. "We should go downstairs. It's almost 2 so people are gonna start showing up."

Kevin nodded and the two of them stood up, leaving Sophie's room and heading downstairs. Sophie turned her head, looking at Kevin for a second.

"Do you have a bathing suit?" she asked. Kevin shook his head. Sophie nodded and went back up the half flight of stairs and walked across the hall to her brother's room. She grabbed a pair of bathing suit bottoms and turned to Kevin, placing them in his hands.

"Thank you miss," Kevin said before following her down the stairs. They walked out to the backyard where some of the family had already arrived.

"Sophie! We were just talking about you!" A familiar voice called out. Sophie's eyes widened as she turned her head to face her Aunt Libby.

"Brace yourself," she muttered to Kevin. They approached her aunt and Sophie leaned down to place a kiss on her cheek. "Hey Aunt Libby, how ya been?"

"Good!" Libby exclaimed. "Is this Kevin?" she asked, immediately turning her attention to the boy next to Sophie. Sophie nodded but before she could speak, Kevin had already begun.

"Hi, it's so nice to meet you. Sophie has told me so much about you," he lied. He extended his arm, reaching out to shake Libby's hand.

Libby, a little taken aback, smirked slightly and shook Kevin's hand. She looked over at Sophie and then back at Kevin. "Well aren't you quite the charmer," she said.

Sophie chuckled and put her hand under Kevin's arm and around his waist. Kevin smiled and put his arm around her shoulders, holding her close to him.

"Yeah, he's a good one," Sophie said, leaning her head against Kevin's body. "Anyway, we're gonna go to the pool house so Kevin can change. I'll stop by later to talk."

Libby nodded, watching as the couple walked away together. Sophie and Kevin walked through the backyard to where the pool was, and Sophie led Kevin to the corner where a small shack sat, where the Taylors kept their pool supplies and offered guests to change in.

"This is sick," Kevin said, opening the shack door. He looked inside and nodded in approval. "Very nice. I've never seen one of these before."

Sophie smiled. "That's one thing I have that you don't."

Kevin turned to look at her with an eye roll. "Oh stop it. I'll be back out in a second," he said, stepping inside. "Unless of course you wanna come inside with me." Kevin smirked and Sophie's eyes widened as she shoved him into the shack and shut the door.

"I'll be on one of the lawn chairs when you're ready," Sophie spoke through the door, walking away.

"I'll miss you!" Kevin called out, getting a laugh out of Sophie.

hi my loves!!

i know it's been a while since i updated and this chapter isn't that long, but i have so many ideas that i needed a filler chapter, and this was it.

there's good stuff coming, i promise, but i'm also working on a sequel to my most popular story right now, so i'm trying to juggle both at the same time.
