rain is something you always adore. eversince you were young, you would always look at the window and gaze at the falling water droplets from the sky. you would always reach your hand out and let the water touch your hands. you love how it gave you comfort and made you all calm on rough days. you love rain, but not today.

you catched your breath the moment you stepped underneath the waiting shed. the rain is pouring loudly, and you forgot to bring an umbrella. your phone's dead and you have no friends present to accompany you.

you glanced at the watch you're wearing and winced. just 30 more minutes before your parents go home. great. just great.

you have no choice but to prepare yourself for the incoming rain for you're going to run your way home. you started running for your life, but to your luck, you tripped on a stone and fell down. you can't help but curse.

you touched the knee that's currently wounded and let the rain pour all over you. but it didn't last long, for you suddenly didn't feel wet anymore. you looked up and saw an umbrella hovering above you, its handle is being held by someone you knew.

"changmin." you muttered.

changmin squatted to reach your level. "looks like someone forgot her umbrella." he said cheekily. he titled his head and looked at you for a few seconds, making you concious and look away. "stop staring."

you heard him chuckle and stand up. he placed his hand in front of you. "get up."

you held his hand and stood up. changmin wasted no time and removed any dirt that was attached to your clothes. you can't help but blush. he's too near. after brushing off your clothes, he looked at you and smiled. "let's go?"

"w-where?" he's still too near, you can't breathe.

"silly." he grabbed your hand and proceeded to walk. "home, obviously."

you catched up with him. "do you know where my house is?"

"i'm classmates with your brother. of course, i know where your house is."

silence sorrounded the two of you on your way to your house. you keep looking down and let him lead the way. changmin's still holding your hand, and it seems like he has no intention of letting it go.

"you know, you shouldn't forget to bring important things like your umbrella, especially if it's raining." he scolded you out of the blue. he's trying to sound angry but you hear nothing but cute whines. "and chin up. are you shy?" he raised your chin and made you look at him in the eye.

upon having eye contact, he smiled. "didn't your parents teach you to not look down while walking? what if something bad happens to yo—"

you felt him suddenly squeeze you hand and drag you to the side. as shock was felt throughout your body, you heard a car moving fastly behind you. as you gaze at the passing car, you realized that you were both almost hit by the vehicle.

"asshole." he cursed under his breath, but you still heard him anyway. you looked at him and realized that you were so close to the point that your noses are just a few inches apart. you distanced yourself and immediately looked down again.

"see what i mean?" he asked and you nodded. he grabbed your hand once again and walked to your house, which you both reached in no time. the rain stopped the moment you both arrived.

"thanks for the, uh, umbrella." you said awkwardly. "i should probably go now."

before you can even head inside, you felt his hand on your arm. "i know i just told you to never forget to bring important stuffs but, uh..." he smiled shyly. "i hope you always forget your umbrella. i like you y/n, and i hope that i can walk you home more in the future." he reached over and ruffled your hair before giving you a bright smile.

before you knew it, you were left alone in front of your house, mind blank and cheeks blushing.
