Chapter 14: Restricted Section and Petrified

It was late at night and as I was lying in bed I could see moment from Katie's bed. I peered down to see that her and Nicole were in their robes and were talking. No one else was in our dorm since there was only three of us, so I got up and whispered.
"What are you two doing up??"
They jumped when they saw me and then slowly calmed down. They looked their shoes, not talking.
"Well? Guys I'm not gonna tell... I just want to know...."
Katie looked up and smiled shyly.
"W-we were going to meet up with Hermione in the Restricted Section and try and find out why everyone is being Petrified....."
I looked at them in disbelief and started getting changed.
"What are you doing??"
"I'm coming with you guys..... do you really think I would tell on you guys??"
As soon as I got changed we went downstairs to the library and saw Hermione slip into the Restricted Section. Nicole leaned in,
"How are we suppose to get in there??"
I thought for a moment then got an idea, I put my hands together and muttered some words under my breath. A small white cat appeared in my hands, I smiled and let it down. It walked over to behind a wall and started meowing. Filch headed the sound and looked around for it.
"Mrs Norris?? Is that you?"
He went off looking for the cat while we slipped into the Restricted Section. We saw Hermione and smiled.
"Mione!"
I whispered and she saw us,
"Guys! Dawn what are you doing here??"
I rolled my eyes and smiled.
"I'm not missing out on an opportunity like this! I also want to prove I'm not the Heir of Slytherin..... after the whole duelling incident..."
She nodded and we all sat down at a table, reading different books, trying to find anything.
"So Dawn.... you and Draco??"
I looked up at Hermione and blushed slightly, she smirked in response and smiled back
"What about you and Ron??"
I smirked at the fact she turned slightly pink.
"Don't be ridiculous...."
I giggled and Katie seemed to be dozing off.
"Katie!"
She jolted back and looked at me.
"What?! Did we find something?!"
I giggled and smirked.
"Thinking of someone?~"
Katie started blushing and looked over at Nicole who was blushing as well. Me and Hermione smiled brightly.
"Really?! You too both like someone??"
"T-they are not the same person...... sort of.."
I furrowed my eyebrows, sort of not the same person..... then it hit me.
"Sort if not the same person, meaning that it's.... twins??"
They both blushed even more and Hermione and I smiled brightly.
"Fred and George!"
"Yeah! But they are like.... two years older than us...."
I looked at Hermione.
"Doesn't matter, they still like them~ who likes who?!"
Katie raised her hand slightly.
"I-I like Fred...."
"A-And I like George...."
I smiled and we all giggled. We went back to reading until Hermione found something.
"I found something!!"
We all looked at Hermione who had a book opened to a certain page.
"The creature in the Chamber Of Secrets.... it's a Basilisk! A type of snake! That's why Harry could hear some random voices..."
My eyes widen and I looked at Katie and Nicole. They looked back at me and nodded.
"H-Harry's been hearing voices as well??"
"Yeah.... why??"
"Dawn's been going on about these voices for weeks! We can't seem to hear them though...."
"That's why you can't hear them! Dawn and Harry are Parseltongues! So they can talk to snakes, and hear the Basilisk!!"
I looked down and nodded, maybe I really am the Heir of Slytherin....
"W-What else does the book say??"
"Ummm that it can slither through small passages and shrink in size...."
My eyes widened for a moment and smiled slightly.
"Wait that's it! What can the Basilisk pass through without being seen??"
They all looked at me confused, I rolled my eyes.
"The pipes!! The Chamber Of Secrets is in the girls bathroom!!"
Nicole groaned.
"Do we have to check every bathroom??"
I rolled my eyes again and giggled slightly.
"Of course not! Cause what bathroom does nobody go into??"
"Moaning Myrtle's bathroom!!"
We all smiled in success, Nicole wrote down a note and I turned to Hermione.
"Does the book say anything else??"
"Ummm spiders run from it and that when you look it directly in the eye...... you die..."
There was a moment of silence until Nicole talked.
"Wait if looking if it in the eye makes you die..... how come no ones dead??"
We all thought for a moment until I saw something shiny in Hermione's pocket, it was a silver mirror. I looked at it and saw something huge slither around some bookshelves, I froze and looked at everyone else.
"Guys.... it's here..."
We all looked at each other in horror and stood up, looking down at the floor. Hermione ripped out the page of the book and I quickly wrote down a note, in case of whatever happens. Hermione pulled out her mirror to look around the corner, Katie followed behind her and looked over her shoulder while Nicole stuck with me.
"Let's get out of the library...."
We slowly made our way out of the library until something made a noise, Hermione and Katie froze while me and Nicole kept on walking. We heard a thud on the ground and quickly turned around to see Hermione and Katie on the floor, petrified. My breath quickened as I saw the body of a large snake come closer to me and Nicole.
"Run!!"
We sprinted away fast and hid behind a corner, I pulled out a switch knife and used the blade to see around the corner. Nicole looked over my shoulder and I started hearing a voice.
"Must kill........ her skeleton will lie in the chamber forever........ you are not worthy..."
Everything suddenly went dark and I felt myself fall to the floor with Nicole, the last thing I remember seeing was a pair of yellow eyes in the reflection of my knife.

After what felt like forever I woke up, but I couldn't move, I was.... frozen. I could feel someone sitting on the edge of my bed, holding my hand. Draco.....
"Malfoy? What are you doing here?"
I could hear someone talking, Harry??
"Well if you can't see Potter, three of my fellow Slytherins are petrified! I'm just visiting them...."

Draco's POV

Ugh why did Potter and Weasley have to come here?! I mean.... the Granger girl did get petrified as well. I looked down at my love and sighed, I stroked her hand and looked at her face. Her long golden hair..... her beautiful aqua eyes.... she didn't look like an ordinary Slytherin.....
"Oh Hermione...."
I looked over at Weasley to see him sitting on the edge of Granger's bed. Didn't see that coming....
"Excuse me boys..."
We all turned around to see Professor McGonagall standing in front of us.
"Do any of these objects mean anything to you??"
She held up a silver mirror and Dawn's switch knife, she threatened Parkinson with it in the common room when she tried to kiss me, god I love it when she does that.....
"T-that's Hermione's mirror.... from her parents..."
"And the switch knife is Dawn's.... it has her family crest in it..."
Professor McGonagall nodded and left us be. We all either stood or sat there in silence not saying anything until Potter spoke.
"Hang on, Hermione's holding something...."
I looked over at Potter and he pulled out what seemed to be a page of a textbook. I looked over at Dawn's hand to see that she was holding something as well. I pulled it out to see two notes.
"Dawn is holding something as well...."
Potter unfolded the page and read it.
"That's it!! This is what the creature in the Chamber Of Secrets is! A Basilisk!!"
I stood up and walked over to Potter, looking over his shoulder.
"So that's why Dawn was hearing voices..... she's a Parseltongue like you Potter!!"
I unfolded the first note that Dawn had in her hand, Pipes....
"What does that letter say??"
"It just says the word pipes...."
"The girls bathroom!! The entrance to the Chamber Of Secrets..."
I smiled and looked at Potter and Weasley, they aren't as bad as my father said they were...
"Are you smiling Malfoy?!"
I snapped out of my daydream and looked away.
"Why do you seem so surprised Weasley??"
I looked back at him and smiled.
"This is just me...."
"Ok stop smiling, your weirding me out...."
We all laughed and I looked at the two boys.
"So shall we??"
They looked at me confused.
"Your coming with us??"
I rolled my eyes and scoffed.
"I'm not asking Potter..... and you can't make me not go.... I wasn't there to help you.... three last year and Dawn got hurt and-."
"So this is about Dawn??"
I turned slightly pink and they smirked at me.
"Wow.... Draco Malfoy becomes nice because of some girl...."
I glared at Weasley and scoffed.
"She's not just some girl...."
I looked down at the note and smiled.

You are reading this when I am either petrified or..... dead... I'm sorry I didn't tell you that I was sneaking out with Hermione, Katie and Nicole..... I love you so much and I hope you can be my knight in shining armour..... I will be your always forever....

I took one final look at Dawn and smiled. I'm going to get her back..... and there is nothing that will stand in my way....
