Chapter 15: Chamber Of Secrets

Draco's POV

Me, Potter and Weasley ran out of the hospital wing and towards Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. I ran around a corner but immediately stopped when I saw a bunch of teachers, I pushed Potter and Weasley around the corner and we listened to their conversation.
"There's been another attack...."
"It seems like the beast isn't just going for muggle-borns..."
"What do you mean Professor??"
I looked over at Snape who looked confused, Snape had a fondness to me and Dawn.... not sure why.
"Not only has Hermione Granger been petrified..... Katie Fairchild, Nicole Ryder and Dawn Lightwood were found near her..... probably all together."
There was a moment of silence until McGonagall spoke.
"Well at least now we know that Dawn isn't the Heir...... Miss Parkinson has been making it quite clear that she is."
They all nodded and Professor Lockhart walked over to them. Oh great.... this idiot...
"Ahh! Sorry about that! Some kids were asking me some questions that I just had to answer!"
"Ahh Professor Lockhart, finally you're here...."
Lockhart looked confused for a moment but then quickly shook it off.
"And you need to see me for what Professor??"
Snape raised an eyebrow at him and smirked slightly.
"A girl has been snatched by the beast, it's your time to shine Gilderoy..."
"Ahh ok... umm why me??"
"Well weren't you just saying last night that you knew where the entrance to the Chamber Of Secrets is?? You would be our hero Lockhart..."
I covered my mouth and tried not to giggle, Potter and Weasley were trying to hold it in as well.
"Ahh! Yes we'll let me go get a few things before I venture off...."
Lockhart ran back to his office and Snape turned to McGonagall.
"Do we know who was taken by the beast??"
"Ginny Weasley...."
I looked back at Ron who had stiffened, they may be the Weasleys..... and my father does call them 'blood traitors...' but..... Ginny is a first year... she doesn't deserve that. I gestured the boys to follow me as we made our way to Lockhart's office.
"Why are we going to Lockhart?! He can't do anything!"
"Maybe...... but he does know where the Chamber Of Secrets is....... who knows what he would tell others..."
We ran into his office to find him...... packing?!
"Where do you think your going?!"
He looked up at us, shocked and smiled.
"Ahhh yes well I got an emergency call from some other wizard.... so... off I go!"
"What about my sister?!"
I looked over at Ron who looked absolutely disgusted but Lockhart's behaviour. I looked back at him as he tried to make his way around us, I pulled out my wand.
"Your not the man you say you are..... are you Lockhart??"
You could tell that he started to sweat at that question but then quickly shook it off with a smiles.
"Oh my dear boy.... I don't know what you are talking about..."
"Your a fake, aren't you Lockhart?? Taking credit from other wizards deeds...."
He looked around nervously while Harry and Ron pulled out their wands. He finally sighed and looked at us.
"So you've figured it out....."
I smirked and raised my wand.
"Your coming with us..."

We walked into the girls bathroom on the third floor and was instantly greeted by..... Myrtle..
"Oh? Now who have we here?~"
She looked over at me and smirked. I rolled my eyes and looked at her.
"Taken..... sorry..."
She huffed and Harry and Ron looked at me confused.
"I'll tell you later."
Harry walked into Myrtle's cubicle and started speaking in Parseltongue, he sounded like Dawn..... All of a sudden, the back of the cubicle opened and a large passageway appeared. My eyes widened and Lockhart laughed nervously.
"Well now that you've found the entrance to the Chamber... I think I'll be-."
He was about to leave but Ron raised his wand.
"Go down...."
Lockhart looked as white as a ghost. He started stuttering and looked at all of us in shock.
"W-What?! You can't be Sirius....." (Sorry I had too... 😂)
I raised my wand higher at him and pushed him closer to the entrance.
"Do we look like we're joking??"
He started moving backwards but Ron pushed him inside. He screamed and fell down, I laughed as I heard a loud bang at the bottom.
"Let's go...."
We all jumped down and landed by Lockhart who was still on the ground. I rolled my eyes as I looked down the dark passageway. There is something at the end.... my eyes widened as I saw a giant body of a snake at the end of the passageway.
"What's that??"
Harry walked over to it and sighed in relief.
"It's just a snake's skin...."
"Bloody hell! This Basilisk must be at least thirty feet long!!"
I nodded and looked over at Ron who looked at the skin, shocked. While we were examining the snake skin, none of us saw that Lockhart had took Ron's wand.
"Ahh... now! I'm sorry to do this too you boys.... but you know this was coming..... Obliviate!!"
He tried to shoot the spell at me but it backfired and hit himself, causing him to fall backwards. He hit the wall behind him, causing rocks to fall from above us.
"Take cover!!"
I ran close to the entrance and covered my head. Once it was silent, I opened my eyes to see that there was a bunch of rocks between me, Ron, Lockhart and Harry.
"Harry!! You ok??"
There was a small crack were we could see Harry.
"I'm fine! I'm going to find Ginny!! You guys try and move some of these rocks...."
We nodded and Harry went off. I sighed and sat down, I looked over at Lockhart who was looking around confused.
"So are you going to talk about what you said to Myrtle??"
I looked over at Ron who had sat next to me.
"About what??"
"You being taken..... I didn't know you had a girlfriend..... is it Pansy??"
I made a disgusted face and shook my head. Ron laughed and smiled.
"Thank Merlin..... so who is it??"
I looked down and blushed slightly.
"D-Dawn....."
Ron's eyes widened and his jaw dropped.
"Really?! Why wouldn't you tell us?!"
I rolled my eyes and looked at Ron.
"We are not the best of friends Weasley..."
He shrugged and turned to face me.
"I guess your right..... but Dawn would tell us anything..... especially Hermione..."
"I-it's actually more than just dating...... we are betrothed and we weren't allowed to tell anyone... that's why Dawn has been distant with you guys...."
Ron nodded and sat back.
"I guess that makes sense....."
I nodded and looked down at the floor.
"You miss her...... don't you??"
I looked up at Ron and smiled slightly.
"It's just I miss her being around...."
Ron nodded then looked at the ground. I noticed and raised an eyebrow.
"What's wrong Weasley??"
"How do you tell if you like a girl??"
I paused for a moment then smiled.
"Well.... you start to notice little things..... like with Dawn... how she always flicks her hair out the way when she's studying..... or when her eyes sparkle when she has an idea...."
Ron nodded and blushed slightly. I smirked and leaned back.
"What are you thinking about Weasley??"
Ron blushes even more and looked down.
"Just about when Hermione furrows her eyebrows when she's concentrating on something...... or when she always pouts her lips when she doesn't know the answer to something...."
I laughed and patted Ron's shoulder.
"I think your in love Weasley..."
He blushed as bright as his hair and shook his head.
"That's not true! I-I...."
He was cut off by Harry and Ginny flying over our heads, being carried by a Phoenix.
"Guys come on!!"
I reached out and grabbed Harry's hand, I turned around and grabbed Ron's as well while Ron grabbed Lockhart. We all flew out of the Chamber and were put down by the Phoenix. I let go of Harry and Ron's hands and we all looked at each other, uncomfortably.
"We never speak of this day....."
"Agreed..."
We all laughed and Ginny jumped into Harry's arms. I smirked when Harry turned slightly pink and I could see that Ron was unimpressed.
"Thanks for saving me Harry...."
He just nodded and teachers bursted into the bathroom. This is going to take a while.....
