This is Me

Lilly's POV

"Lilly, get in the car! You're going to be late to soccer!"

"Okay mom!" I sighed, rolling my eyes. Doesn't she know I could drive myself? Of course she doesn't. She doesn't care

I quickly threw on my watch and a sweatshirt so nobody would notice the day old cuts on my arm. "You know, you should really hang out with Riley more. I really like her a lot!" This is an example of what I can't stand. My mom tries to take over my life, and that's when she's not calling me a good for nothing little shit. Oh yeah, or cheering on my dad as he hits me. She puts on this whole bullshit act that even she starts to believe. I stayed silent for most of the ride. We arrived to the field and I muffled out a goodbye.

I played my heart out that practice. Soccer is the one thing that is my true release except for when I'm cutting. Great life, right?

At 4:30, my lovely mother picked me up. Little did I know how much my life would be changing in a matter of minutes.

"How was practice?"

"Fine."

"You know what? I don't need your attitude. Your father and I do so much for you and the least you could do is show some gratefulness for us. You really need to get your act together, young lady..."

I rolled my eyes, put my headphones in, and cranked Something That We're Not onto full blast. It's Demi Lovato that gets me through these days. Actually, she gets me through life. I would probably be dead without her honestly. She's the one that's going to help me keep my shit together until I move out soon.

I glanced at the clock. 4:37. I was just about to ask my mom what dinner was when I heard a loud screech and looked up in time to see a blue pickup cut off a tinted black SUV. They collided with a loud bang, and I realized we were about to hit them as well. Time seemed to go in slow motion; I remember the hood crumpling and then a flash and bang. Then, everything went black.
