For the Love of a Daughter

Lilly's POV

I woke up in Demi's arms to the sound of pounding on the door. I slipped out of her grasp and peeked out the window and screamed.

Demi's POV

I heard the worst possible sound-Lilly screaming, pounding on my door. I sprinted over to her. "What's wrong baby?!" I asked.

"My...my..dad...." she trailed off.

"Oh my gos-" I was crudely inturrupted by my front door getting busted down. A tall and muscular but run down man with Lilly's bright blue eyes stumbled in with a look of pure hatred and drunkeness.

"COME HERE LILLY, WHY ARE YOU SUCH A FAILURE?! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT THAT YOUR MOTHER IS GONE AND I NEED HER. I SWEAR I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"

We screamed in unison and ran past him out of the house, but he was hot on our trail. Somehow Lilly managed to pull out her cell phone and call 911. Suddenly, he caught up to us. He pushed me down and then went to Lilly. He started hitting her and kicking her in the stomach. I got up and jumped on him, clawing him in the eyes. He threw me off and my head slammed into the ground. My vision slowly faded away.

Lilly's POV

How did he find me? I thought he was supposed to be in jail? Panic coursed through my veins as he busted down the door. Me and Demi took no time sprinting out of that house. I called 911 but not long before he knocked down Demi and then started beating me. Suddenly, I saw Demi fly on top of him, then he slammed her down. She didn't move.

"WHAT DID YOU DO!" I screamed at the monster I called my father.

"I didn't do nothin', you were the one that killed your mom. Now you and your little friend are gonna pay." He said with a smirk. 

I closed my eyes waiting for the next blow, but it never came. When I opened them, I saw my dad being placed in handcuffs. I ran over to Demi, who was being loaded onto a stretcher. A police officer came up to me and asked what happened. I told him, and he told me how he was out on bail, but had no idea how he found where I was staying. 

I thanked him and climbed into the back of the ambulance, where I held Demi's hand the whole ride to the hospital.
