Demi's POV

I entered the double doors, and was led to a small room with Lilly. We were asked the same questions we had been asked the whole day, and it took what seemed like forever. Finally, it was over, but I knew it was time for goodbye. I was relieved to hear that any days were good for visiting, and I could bring food.

"Miss Lovato, it's time to say goodbye."

I felt the tears streaming down my cheeks, and took Lilly into my arms. I knew I would miss everything about her-her blue eyes, long brown hair, her scent, and just the way she lit up with her smile and laugh. I couldn't let go. It was only until tomorrow right? That shouldn't be hard, right? How am I going to live without her by my side? I wondered.

"I love you, Lilly."

"I love you too, Demetria."

I drove home in silence, and my house felt too big. I didn't like it. So, I called my friend Marissa and explained the situation. Not even 5 minutes after we hung up, she was over with Starbucks and blankets. She does sure know how to cheer me up.

Lilly's POV

I couldn't bear the though of being separated from Demetria. The whole time when they asked questions I held back tears. When the dreaded "it's time to say goodbye" was spoken, I buried myself into Demi. I watched her leave between the doors, and it was like something was stabbing through my chest. 

Now that my girlfriend had been ripped away from me, I had to be basically strip searched, which was a load of fun. I was shown to my room, and collapsed in a heap.

The next morning, I woke up confused. Then, everything came back to me. I picked at my rubbery eggs on my tray, refusing to speak to anyone.

This is going to be a long day.

Demi's POV

As soon as it was time, I sped down to the hospital to visit Lilly. I brought her favorite- a caramel frap with whipped cream and mac-n-cheese. Oh, I've never seen someone eat so fast.

"The food here sucks." she explained.

"So, did you have a good first day?" I asked.

"Eh it was okay. But I want to go home." she looked at me and pouted.

God, she's so cute when she does that.

"When I do what?"

"Shit, did I say that out loud?"

"No, I'm just telepathic!" Lilly giggled. 

We made small talk and she complained about the awfulness at the place until we were told visiting hours were over.

I kissed her softly, and rolled my eyes when I heard a staff member scold, "No physical contact with the patients!" Lilly started cracking up and it was adorble. I couldn't wait to see her the next day.

 Lilly's POV

The next morning, I was surprised when a girl that looked around my age sat at my table. 

"Mind if I sit here?" She asked.

I shook my head no. She had really long blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and I could tell she was broken just by looking at her.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Olivia. You?"

"Lilly."

"Ohmygosh wait...I knew you looked familiar! You're that girl that the paps keep seeing with Demi Lovato!" Olivia said excitedly.

"Shhh, I don't want people to hear! Wait, the paps?" I whispered.

"Yeah, it's been all over. Rumors of dating? Are they true?" Olivia was up in my face, and I didn't like it.

"Excuse me." I got up and went to my room. Great, people are finding out. What if Demi isn't ready to come out? Better yet, what about me? How will this change us? I kept thinking until I realized I was hyperventillating. I relaxed and decided to talk about it with Demi when she visited.

I was really nervous when I saw her walk through the doors. I was really quiet, and Demi noticed. "Babe, what's wrong?" She asked me, a concerned look on her face.

"Demetria, someone today told me that the paps think we're dating. I mean I guess I don't mind coming out, but I want you to tell me how you feel."

"Lil, I expected the paps to do it. I say we just let it slowly happen, instead of just shocking the world like 'hey everyone I like girls!!'"

"Sounds like a plan to me!"

We hugged, and I couldn't wait for the days I'd be walking out those doors with her.
