I woke up, and couldn't breathe. I gasped for air, but nothing entered my lungs. I couldn't see. I mean I could, but it was all blurry. I couldn't think-all I could process was blood and shattered glass. I heard people yelling and I think someone tried to comfort me. I looked over at my mom and I wish I hadn't. I'm not gonna go into detail, but she was pretty fucked up.
I crawled out of the car and went down on all fours. I felt someone put a collar on my neck. I glanced up to see a woman running towards me. She looked really familiar, with her one side of her head shaved and her chocolate eyes. Wait...is that Demi? I must be having hallucinations, I thought. I slipped in and out of consciousness as I saw people rushing around. As I was loaded into an ambulance, the darkness took over.
When I woke up, I panicked. Where was I? Pain shot through my chest with each breath I took. I absorbed my surroundings. I was in a hospital bed, but why?
Suddenly, a woman in scrubs came into the room. She said a little too cheerfully, "Hi Lilly, I'm Doctor Carlson. You were in a car accident and suffered a broken tibia and bruised ribs, and needed stiches on your chin. Other than that, you got very lucky."
Wow, lucky me, I'm alive to see another day on this wonderful planet. I wish whatever had happened had killed me.
Suddenly, I recall what had happened.
"Where's my mother?" I asked.
"Lilly, honey, I'm so sorry...we tried so hard..." she trailed off.
I didn't know how I felt. I felt relieved that the countless abuse of her was finally done. But then again she was my mother. Whatever, one less fake bitch on this planet.
But then that meant I would have to live with my dad. I knew he would pin my mom's death on me because everything is my fault to him. Just the though of going home to him made me shiver.
I'll just run away, then. I decided to make a plan. But, my thoughts were inturrupted when Doctor Carlson announced that I had a visitor. When they walked in, my jaw dropped.
