Two Pieces

Demi's POV

I was nervous. Tomorrow was me and Lilly's 6 months anniversery. Half a year ago I had no idea that I would be like this, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Today, we were going to officially come out to the world at a press conference.

I was still in bed when Lilly came into the room and pounced on me. "Wake up sleepyhead! We're gonna be late!"

"Unff. Five more minutes."  I said, still half asleep.

Lilly then proceeded to tickle me and I screamed as I rolled around, trying to escape her. The tickling turned into kissing, then full on making out. I looked up at the clock, pushing Lilly off of me. "Shit, now we're actually gonna be late." I quickly threw on a cute outfit and did my makeup. I heard my phone buzz so I checked it.

We're already going to be late, hurry up.

I knew when Max texted me that, I was gonna be in deep shit. Me and Lilly sprinted downstairs to the waiting car, where I was immediately lectured by Max. After the first sentence I zoned out and focused on my beautiful girlfriend. Her long brown hair, bright blue eyes, perfect smile, and just all of her made me smile. She cleared her throat.

"Excuse me Demetria, you're a creeper. Stop staring at me!" She playfully hit my arm.

"Then stop being so beautiful." I kissed her and she blushed.

SInce tomorrow was our 6 months, I kept thinking about our plans. I was going to take her out to a fancy dinner, and I had made special arrangements for fireworks on the beach. Simple, but I knew she'd love it.

After a few minutes of driving, we pulled up to the building where the press conference was going to be. We got out of the car, and I grabbed Lilly's hand.

Here we go. My life is about to change.

Lilly's POV

We walked hand-in-hand into the studio, and were backstage. I could already hear lots of people, which just elevated my anxiety levels. Soon, someone came out and told Demi it was time. I kissed her cheek and watched her walk on. She started:

"Hey guys. I bet all of you were wondering why I called this press conference. The thing is, I have an announcement. Some of you may have figured it out by now, some of you haven't. All I ask is that you respect my decision because it makes me happy; I just want you guys to know the truth." She paused and took a breath. "For the past six months, I've been the luckiest girl in the world. For these six months, I have been in a serious relationship. I want you all to meet my girlfriend, Lilly." This was my cue to walk on. I heard gasps and paps shouting question after question.

"Demi, are you a lesbian?!"

"Demi, who is Lilly?!"

"Lilly, how did you guys meet?!"

"Lilly, are you a gold digger?!"

I had no idea where they got that last question and I giggled to myself. But still, I was scared as hell. Nobody from before I met Demi knew I liked girls. Actually, I didn't know I liked girls either until I met Demi. The media was overwhelming and I had to try and stop myself from having a full blown panic attack.

Demi took my hand, which made me feel better. She started talking again.

"Lilly and I met under some very extreme circumstances. For her privacy though, I'm not going to say how until she's ready to talk about it. And no, we didn't meet in treatment. Lilly has been a good support for me. She most definitley is a not a gold digger," she laughed, "she is very happy with me and I am very happy with her. Any more questions?"

After answering a few more, we went home. I was glad we did it, but it was so hard. I layed down on the couch and just cried. Cried that I was no longer Lilly Wyatt, but Demi Lovato's girlfriend. I liked it, but I knew my life would be different. I cried because I knew that we were going to get hate. But I also cried because I could now be who I really was in public. I felt Demetria sit down, and she rubbed my back to comfort me. She whispered softly to me, "I know it's hard baby, it's okay." I held her close. This is what felt right. Being in her arms. "Sing to me." I whispered back.

She smiled, and began.

She stopped, and smiled at me.  "That song always reminds me of you. We were both broken, but we fix each other, and make each other whole again. I love you." She kissed me, and I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
