Clarke and I stood by the grave we had just had to dig.

Wells' grave.

Yesterday we had found his body perched a little outside camp, his fingers cut off, most likely by a grounder. I found no sense in the matter - how they had dealt with Jasper before compare to this, it was gruesome. But he was my best friend. I needed to find sense.

Wells would have been able to.

Clarke knelt down on her knees and placed a small bouquet of purple flowers we had picked. We searched endlessly for blue ones, his favourite colour, but unfortunately the ground doesn't have any flower stores so purple was our best bet.

"What do people usually say at funerals?" I ask her and she shakes her head.

"Nice things about them. Stories. Memories." She lists and I nod to myself.

"Wells was better than every one of us. He shouldn't have died. Not him." I announce and she nods slowly. "How the hell are we gonna do this without him?" I question, my eyes growing teary as I remember my friend.

"We have to." Clarke tells me. "For him." She then rises to her feet and looks at me, her eyes as teary as mine and I rest my head on her shoulder as we stand arm in arm looking at Wells.

"I'm gonna kill whoever did this to him, I swear." I mumble to her and she nods.

"I know." She whispers quietly.

"Ariel!" I hear a voice call out from behind us and I turn around and see Charlotte stood there, looking guilty for interrupting. "Sorry, I uh- I just needed help with the wall."

I look at Clarke and she nods, insisiting I go help and I nod back to her.

"Don't stay out too long ok?" I tell her and she nods once more before I wipe my eyes and follow Charlotte back into the camp.

"Alright, where you working?" I ask her and she takes me over to her station. Tying the logs together. That shouldn't be too hard.

"There's just a lot of them, I needed an extra pair of hands." She tells me and I smile, holding up my hands and performing a small jazz hands routine.

"An extra pair of hands are here and ready to work."

She chuckles, before handing me some rope and I grab it and get to work.

I begin to tie two branches together besides Charlotte, spotting from the corner of my eye Murphy and Bellamy watching everyone work.

Connor and Micheal then proceed to move in front of us, carrying a log, but Connor drops to his knees, probably from being overworked. I offer him a sympathetic look, contemplating asking him if he's ok, until-

"Hey! You think the Grounders are just gonna sit around, and wait for us to finish the wall? Murphy shouts approaching Connor.

"Here we go again." I say under my breath and Charlotte chuckles, as my eyes watch the scene unfold and back to my knotting.

"Maybe we should let the little girl do the lifting for you, huh?" He points at Charlotte.

"I just need some water okay? Then I'll be fine." Connor insists.
