I sit on a log outside my tent playing with my knife. I wasn't able to sleep last night. In fact, I haven't been able to sleep properly ever since Wells died. Charlotte was just the icing on the cake. The sheer thought of shutting my eyes and having to remember, and having to envision all that has happened is just horrible. And Clarke's been gone all night, pressumebly with Finn. I'm happy for her, she deserves happiness - at least one of us does.
"Ariel!" I hear Octavia shout from my right. I watch as she walks towards me and smile slightly. We haven't talked much at all since we landed so in a way I'm quite confused as to what she wants.
"Are you ok? I was gonna ask you yesterday but you weren't around." She asks me, referring to Charlotte and Murphy I suppose and I force myself to properly smile, so she believes what I'm about to say without pestering.
"I'm alright, thanks." I ensure her but then she reaches out placing a finger on my neck.
"Sorry about your neck" She asks me and I pull a tight lipped smile knowing she's referencing to the scar on my neck from Murphy's knife. I didn't even notice it was there until this morning, because it hurt like hell.
"It's alright. Battle scar's are kind of badass."
She grins in agreement, at my successful attempt to find the positive in the negative. "How have you been holding up?"
But before she can answer, we're cut off at the sound of something soaring out of the sky. My eyes divert to up above and notice a pod falling out of it, lighting up the darkness, most likely full of supplies. Or a radio. Or both. Hopefully some really nice food.
"Woah." Octavia gasps, as we rise to our feet. "I need to get my brother." She tells me and I nod as I move forwards to the crowd forming watching it drop out the sky.
"There!" Octavia calls out from behind me to her brother, who walks out shirtless, followed by two other girls wrapped in blankets. So I deal with my grief wallowing, and he with threesomes. How vulgar, yet so very expected.
"Please tell me they brought down shampoo." Rhona, who was one of the girls who came out Bellamy's tent, hopes and I roll my eyes because shampoo is definitely #1 on our priority list. Seems like his type.
"Shampoo? How about a radio? Or a water filter? Or something that could actually help us out?" I spit back.
She glares at me for a moment. "Jeez. I was just saying."
"Maybe next time just say in your head." I shake my head before I turn on my heel and walk back to my tent. I don't know why I was so harsh to her, to be frank I shouldn't care about what she said but for some reason she just...bothered me.
But it doesn't matter what's in that pod - radio, water filter or shampoo - we need to get it, and get it now. Anyone would have seen it, including the grounders, and if there's good supplies in there, we need to get to it first. So I begin packing my bag, to get ready to set off, and try and find a group to come with me. It makes me wish Wells were here to come with us.
