Eternity
Is not for mortal man
Who, even with arms outstretched,
Cannot grasp his own future
And though fingertips may caress
The skin of the timeslip,
They cannot get past the surface tension
And therefore cannot hold
Eternity
~
Infinity
Is not for mortal man
Who, even with years' time,
Cannot count beyond the definite
And though eyes may behold
A large enough number,
He cannot perceive such greatness
And therefore cannot overcome
Infinity
~
Insanity
Is a vice of mortal man
Who, with such finite capacity,
Has taken into habit autogenocide,
Who has pledged to cleanse the earth
Of all but himself
In order to create peace
But has embraced only
Insanity
