We were the Bonnie and Clyde of our generation
Two people in love with an itchy trigger finger
I don't know what attracted me to him
Or exactly what he saw in me
Maybe it was the danger
Or high hopes and bittersweet dreams
We were restless souls
And maybe soulmates
Now, as my life seeps away
In a worse way than an overdose
And my eyes stare blankly at the bathroom wall
I can only think that I'm leaving him
Even if it was him, even if it wasn't
I can't stand to leave him behind
We were the Bonnie and Clyde of our generation
The world knew us as Nancy and Sid...
