Lost in the dark corners
And cast out into the world
With tear tracks marring her face
Clown paint can't cover these scars
They're so deep that they show through
We can wish these away
And brush past that
But the marks remain
From everyone and everything
That slides off our backs
Now she stands triumphant
Brandishing her sword
She has gotten justice
And fought hard for this freedom
Now here she is
And she has everything she's ever wanted
But more than that
She's got everything she ever needed
And more
So much more
Than she ever expected to get
She still wears her clown paint
But she's glad it doesn't hide
The scars that she's earned
In the fight for herself
